Our fans sound like LSU fans a couple of years ago. If we see significant improvement next season and are very competitive I wonder how many of you will be on the Chizik train again? Bottom line is simple...the coaches were very open about how this team looked in the offseason but everyone said...that is coach speak....he is sand bagging....this staff is trying to get what the players have been taught the last 3 years out of there head, that is not easy, ask Saban. He had legit struggles in year one trying to get the previous staffs f philosophy out of his team. This team is installing two brand new systems...

I for one think Chiz deserves one more year before anyone starts calling for his job....we go 7-5 or 8-4 next season...then yeah can em!

Gene, why are you on a message board tonight? Go study tape for LSU next week. Don't worry, Jay isn't going to fire you.

This is pretty spot on. Everyone is freaking out because of our inflated expectations due to the many offseason changes. Some things can't be changed in 1 offseason.

That said, if it becomes obvious our coaches aren't trying absolutely everything to fix some of our situations on the field, I'll be calling for the Gene's head too

I'd rather us not give him another year. If we improved upon this year in 2013, it'd be another 7-8 win season. frick that.

Some think we are at risk to possibly lose recruits now because how we have looked thus far....what do they thin will happen if we can the staff? People just need to back off and lets see what happens. A kneejerk reaction is the last thing we need.

You're worried about recruiting right now? Bringing in top-level talent means nothing if we can't develop it. We've got the crown jewel of this class locked up & tatted up, I'd rather have some decommits and bring in a coaching staff worth a damn than keep going the direction we're going in.

Grimes and Boulware have done a great job. I have no animosity towards Thigpin. Van Gorder and Martinez just got here and have done a solid job all things considered.

Chizik is clearly in over his head. Trooper and Luper need to get out as soon as possible. I've lost a lot of faith in Loeffler already. Pelton is doing a mediocre job and his stock with me is falling fast.

Some very good points 83. I have issues with the poor play of our "experienced players". Lemonier doesn't seem to change his great play with a new coordinator or scheme. I have a deep concern over the development of players at this point.

Obviously nothing will happen before the end of the year, so we shall see what happens. I would love to see a team come together and clip off some wins. I would love to eat some crow for some of my negativity. However, there are some basics of football that seem to be missing from this team. I haven't called for anyone to be fired myself, but my leash is shorter then yours. (not that it matters what i think in the scheme of things)

The saddest part of our situation is you can't help but think that if our high profile recruits went to Alabama they'd be turned into NFL prospects and here we call them busts.

I think you took my post out of context. All I was saying is the "Fire Chizik" guys are only looking at the here and now. If we can Chizik right now the program could be set back by several years.

I for one am don't think things are as bad as others on this board. He is installing two brand new systems that are completely opposite of what we have been doing the last three years.

Good points as well. I just think people are having some knee jerk reactions. Like I said earlier, this staff was very open during fall about the status of this team. We, the fans, chose to believe they were just trying to sand bag or something.

Also as I said earlier...if this team does not progressively get better as the year moves on and have a huge improvement next year, then yeah, lets fire him and get someone else.

All those that are close to the edge need to just step back and sit down...otherwise you are going to have a VERY rough year...we are only three games in folks.
