Im pro Lane or Freeze. We're hiring a football coach not a youth pastor. The best coach i had in all my years was a pretty shitty person off the court but he had our backs and knew the game.

Lane feels like the closest thing to a sure thing. I’m just not sure we will be able to pony up to coin to make that happen.

I have no idea what that has with what we are talking about

I’m just saying, winning is all it takes and that’s what Gus didn’t do.

And I tried to tell you from the beginning he was in over his head. See how that works

You know you’re talking to Jang right? I never got on that bus.

LOL. OK

Enjoy this season and the next couple of coaching changes until it gets back to the level Malzahn brought Auburn

He got caught because he's an idiot.

He's continued to act like an idiot since then.

I don't want AU to pay an idiot $7 million or more a year to coach the football team. Especially if he isn't that good of a coach.

Which he isn't.

Malzahn brought us to levels he clearly couldn’t revisit later. The guy had a great season and I’ve hailed that offense but it wasn’t working. Stop pretending like Harsin being a dick and incompetent makes Gus’s last 5 years more bearable. 8-5 should be our floor!

Nobody wants average results. See Jones’ sig.

Our historical record in basketball is 100x more pathetic and Bruce threw those shackles down. Stop making excuses for Gus.

Another one of those uat lies. Auburn is a historic 8 win team. But they also used to only play 10 games.

You started this. I merely said that Bruce's infraction was more than just a mistimed BBQ. You,like always, turned it into a Gus thing on my post. Im not sure how he mind fricked you all so bad that every-time I post you have to bring him up. Worse than the Nix haters.. Apparently I can not have a conversation on here without you bring it up

But let me know when Auburn is able to hire a coach who takes you to a national Championship, beats 3 #1 teams and gives you the good memories that you got while Malzahn was at Auburn. I will be waiting for it. Im sure Harsin or the next guy in line will do it. So I will be waiting with you for a long time unfortunately.

I didnt bring this up, you did. I just didnt know so many of you were so sensitive about the truth about our Basketball coach. This is a big problem with this fanbase. People are emotional and dont like the truth.

I rarely talk about Gus with you. Are you saying you implying vague reference points or something? I can’t remember the last time we have discussed Gus.

He was here 7 years dude. One of those accomplishments ended up giving me the worst agony I’ve ever felt in football. The second one ended up with Auburn losing to Georgia, and then UCF. The other years were pure hell. We might suck for a while but as long as we don’t suck from not trying THATS OKAY BY ME.

Over the past 70 years (1952-2021), AU's winning percentage is .669. On a 13-game schedule, that averages to 8.7 wins a season.

To put that in perspective, that puts AU at #11 in the all-time major college winning percentage listing - just behind UGa, Notre Dame and Florida, and just ahead of LSU, F$U, Clemson, UTee and Miami.

Lanier has been eating his hat with Pearl for a long time.

I remember just shy of the SEC tournament during our magical season in basketball Lanier made some dumb remark “are we just happy to be here”

Present day, he throws up our regular season wins.

i think going back that far is inappropriate. the game is much different today than it was in the 50s, 60s, 70s, and even some of the 80s. i'm going to update this to a more recent start date. thanks for sharing the link, this site is cool.

It hurt everyone. But of course it was better before he came and better after he left. Right? You feeling better now?

So you somehow think someone is going to take over the program and you are never going to be disappointed? I never took you for a everyone wins kinda guy. I know you are young but you are going to have lifelong disappointments. It is part of it. Hopefully, there are some great moments in there to balance them out. 'which is what we had with Malzahn.

But if gambling is your deal, you are going to get what you want. Another Auburn coaching search and a brand new start from scratch. Lets just all hope that somehow, Auburn is able to do something it has not done in 40 years and that is hire a top tier coach

Totally untrue. I love Pearl and I am extremely happy Auburn pulled the trigger on him. I have said numerous times that Bruce understands Auburn and he may be the most "Auburn" coach we have ever had.

But, that does not change the fact that he made a big mistake beforehand and that it happened. We also had a major basketball infraction on his watch that he got a free pass on. That is it. Doesnt mean I dont like him, it just means that I didnt sweep it under the rug. It happened and life went on

But you someone turned that into a Malzahn conversation that I am happy to have with you.
