Cambridge isn’t a NBA player. He can probably play overseas somewhere but won’t come close to the NBA.
Bryce and Jared are undersized and would be liabilities on defense are the only reasons why they have never landed and stuck. Same will be the case for Cooper. He will eventually get his shot but it will be very tough going for him defensively.

If his 3 was up to snuff he would be

Yeah Person was fired in October 2017. Before we had any success at all in the Pearl era. The last game Person was involved with we lost to the 14 seeded Missouri on Wednesday of the SEC tournament .
I was around the program a ton from 2014-2016 and Person rarely was involved with any sort of personal shooting instruction. He was our defensive coordinator. On one occasion I saw him giving Bryce a couple of tips on focusing on his shot before the first game in front of a crowd but that’s all

He got fired like two weeks before the regular season championship season started. Just because he wasn’t there for that doesn’t mean he wasn’t a critical part of their maturation.

Tennessee started 2/21 from 3 vs Villanova

And the flip side is also true… just because he was on staff for two years before doesn’t mean he’s responsible for the good shooting in 18 and 19.
Just feels like some revisionist history going on

When Chuma credits Person. And when people seek his private instruction, I have to believe his coaching was bigger than you are letting on.

Person didn’t stay as an NBA shot coach for so long because he was a nice guy. He fricked us up but to doubt his coaching ability and what he brought to AU is weird.
As I said we need a shot coach even if it someone that just works with the players in the off season. Purifoy is probably the guy that got hurt the most by Person’s departure. His mechanics never were the same after his suspension.

I could see Chuck having done a lot of work with Chuma that summer before he got canned. Chuck liked working with bigs more when he was helping with offensive instruction. Frankie Sullivan did a lot of the guard stuff back then

Justin Powell in Tennessee's 71-53 loss to Villanova: 5 pts and 0/3 from 3, -12
Hate to see it

Tray Alexander isn’t playing all that much either.

Chuma never played a game with Person on the AU bench. They may have overlapped for what?… 2 months

Powell played 18 minutes today, he just didn't play well
To be fair he was 6/9 from 3 in their first 2 games, but that was vs shite opponents

Yeah but if Powell had come back he probably averages 28 minutes a game and is a focal point of the offense. There’s he’s just scoring punch off the bench. Still baffled as to why he left

In practice, Scoot already looks the part of an NBA player—lean and chiseled and explosive. Person, his trainer, says he’s seen Scoot pick up the ball off one dribble after crossing midcourt and fly in for the dunk. His jumper is a work in progress, though Person had Scoot shooting (and converting) from 30 feet. “He’s going to be a Russell Westbrook with range,” says Person.
Apparently Person is training. Scoota Henderson

He’s dead to me.

Probably for the best he's out of the locker room, he has a shite attitude when things aren't going well. It shows in his body language, and that kind of energy can be contagious.
As frustrating as Cambridge is shooting, at least he brings positive energy. Guys like him and Cardwell are huge for building chemistry and finding a team identity

Just keep getting better each game. Defense looks strong at various times in the game. Jabari doesn’t have his game in control yet but give him 10 or so games. Jaylin has stepped up in his role and is playing well. Kessler looks lost at times on offense unsure of what to do. Jasper is our most consistent. Greene is playing a little selfish at times but Bruce trust him. I have no doubt KD can score when he’s on the court. Just keep playing hard click off wins and don’t get run out of them gym when we do lose and we will be setting good going into conference play. No chemistry on offense yet but it will come.
