Hooks45 posts on Au 247 site basketball board. By far the biggest insider over there.

Called out kessler not being happy at UNC months ago and that Auburn might be his destination.

All good. Just be glad you're not a UNC insider. You can practically smell the salt coming from their fanbase.

All that roster turnover and it ends up being a reload. Hot damn I love being relevant in roundball.

We shed some bad weight and put on some muscle. Great roster turnaround

Hooks says “we are not done yet” and it isn’t referring to Scoot. Hmmmm

Probably Sills. Would be the least exciting news, but definitely still good news and would gives us a solid rotation of guards with plenty of experience

Got to be Sills or TyTy.

I don’t know any others we were connected with.

I believe Sills announces Wednesday. I’m thinking he’s a backup plan if we miss on tyty.

So how many roster spots do we have left? I would assume three? Transfer/recruit, Thor, and Scoot

Also how do you guys think Kessler fits? I’m excited for the talent and know Bruce will figure it out. But seems like we already had a stretch big man with Jabari. Would love to hear your thoughts as I think we need a McLemore type to do the dirty work

Rumors on Twitter have TyTy giving us a hard look. Man, if we wound up with either him or Scoot our roster would end up being even better than if everybody from last year had returned

I see Kessler as a Wiley with better hands. Neither a great fit for Bruce but Bruce has shown he can make it work. Wiley's senior year is one of the more underappreciated performances in recent Auburn history.

Kessler will eat up space just like Wiley but Kessler will be an offensive matchup nightmare for a lot of teams. His low post skill and footwork for a freshman is pretty damn impressive. He’s going to be an automatic bucket for a lot of undersized teams.

Yeah you're probably right. I'm excited about his rim protection abilities most of all. He was awesome blocking shots this past season even though he had trouble staying out of foul trouble (which is common for even the best freshman bigs). Cardwell showed flashes of rim protection but good to get reinforcement on that end of things.

We have 11 currently assuming Thor stays in the draft, so we're butting up against the limit of 13. Main need is one more guy that can run point for the rotation.

Kessler is a prolific shot blocker and probably our starting 5 with Jabari on the floor at 4, and both are pretty good shooters that can keep the floor stretched on the other end.

We have a seriously scary front court next year.

Think the lineup is:

Green
Alexander (Cambridge may be the starter early but once Alexander comes along I expect him to slide into the starting role)
Flanigan
Smith
Kessler

A lot of his value came at the defensive end and offensive rebounding, IMO. For example, we played Kentucky that first time in 2019, we got hammered by the big man who transferred from Stanford(can’t remember name). Wiley shut him down in the Elite 8 game and also hit a big shot in the first few minutes to keep us from getting blown out.

You can never have enough shooters on a team. But we better be so good that we don’t need a rebounder to hang down low..and that’s hard to do.

I agree with every bit of this post except for that I think Jasper is the clear starter at the 2.
