Probably not a good sign. I still think we will round out our roster in a decent way but I'm guessing we aren't getting the great news we hoped for.

I think that would mean we don't know what Kessler is going to do. Gurley is a top target.
I'm not one to hate opposing coaches, but Oats is hard not to hate IMO. I'd like to kick his arse.

Yes, Oats has done really well in the transfer portal to fill his roster and keep them competitive. And he has a strong connection to AAU in Canada, I guess from being so close to Canada while he coached at Buffalo.
PEarl can handle the competition. The key is that he keep doing it. Now if he could do more in state with the 5*s that are not legacy...that would counter Oats some...

Hooks explained it later, after others went ballistic. He said he gave out too much information...but he also said nothing had changed from his positive post...
...We hopefully will get some confirmation this weekend and in the next few weeks bc signing date starts April 14th...

I have no doubt that Pearl is who he is and that Oats isn't about to bury him.. but it's been six straight months of continual, escalating, positive news for Oats and Bama and it's been mostly a dud of a 12 months for Auburn and it's making me grow weary. I know we'll be alright in a month or two but it's beyond time for some good news haha

You're stretching it a little there..
First, PEarl got a 5* in Jabari SMith in October, and a 4*(#1 in Oklahoma) to commit in November.
At that time, we didn't know the status of our other 5* players and their NBA intent.
And now that we know we have 2 in the draft, PEarl is working hard on the others that he had been recruiting, (Kessler as a transfer, Scoot, TyTy, Gurley, etc)...
So other than Oats getting JD, we had a great early signing period...
Just bc Oats has picked up early steam, w some guys...he HAD prior recruiting contact with(Garrett and the Canadian big guy)...it doesn't mean we won't finish well...
Calm down...take a valium...(for now).. :)

I'm just saying that it's been a net negative 12 months with NCAA postseason news, 4 transfers, 2 early declarations, mediocre season, dominant rival season vs the couple of good things you noted. I know it's about to swing well for us and I trust Pearl I'm just saying it's been a long year for AU hoops for Pearl standards haha

After all these years...I think it is just the Auburn way for us fans...
But I'll take this type of roller coaster ride w/ Pearl that we have had this year than the one we never had w/ Barbee and Lebo.
