Do we think Wiley is definitely out for the season? Any hurdles in near future where he might be cleared? This sucks not having him on the court.

Hooks has been hinting that we may get Wiley back in something like a "Christmas time surprise"

That said the way McElmore/Spencer are playing at the 5, we aren't hurting for Wiley right now. We'd probably be taking a step back defensively with Wiley outside a few games against bigger post players.

Purifoy probably would be the better addition at the 3, which is our weak point. Heron doesn't want to be a 3 + Dunbar isn't ready for significant minutes at the 3.

Right now, Brown/Heron/Harper are all around ~70%+ minute share. That's fine against low midmajors every 5-7 days, but our high tempo style + undersized backcourt won't survive SEC competition every ~3-4 days shouldering that workload

OK, Anfernee, I'm sorry I ridiculed your 3-pt shooting last game.

So? The OG White Caboose included Jake Purchase who was a scholarship player.

Btw, I haven't been on Twitter in a couple years. Is the White Caboose Twitter still active? shite was GOAT

If you are going to praise Purchase, at least get Jack's name right

I mean, I really wasn't praising him. Just pointing something out.

Anfernee is fricking killing it this year for us, stat line of 17 points, 11 boards, and 6 blocks along with 4 of 4 from the 3.

A lineup of
Harper
Heron
Murray
Mclemore
Wiley

Would kill it on the boards then imagine a second rotation of
Mitchell
Brown
Purifoy/ Dunbar
Okeke
Spencer

Good god how awesome that would be.

I listened to Rod on JOX this morning. Said it was lower back and made it sound like they should know something today.

McElmore is a 5 and Murray is a 4, so it is extremely unlikely to see this lineup consistently even if Wiley comes back

If Wiley/Purifoy come back, the starting lineup will be (after likely easing Wiley/Purifoy back in)

1- Harper
2- Heron
3- Purifoy
4- Murray/Okeke
5- Wiley

That would be such a strong group and would give a dangerous bench.

While I have always loved Bryce, I think Bryce off the bench could be a Ben Gordon Bulls 6th man type weapon. Bryce also is the better G to matchup with Mitchell at PG

My only concern with that lineup is defense. Harper is just decent, Heron is lazy/doesn't switch well, Purifoy can get lost + Wiley is a downgrade from McElmore.

Our bench though would just dominate defensively and while may be streaky on scoring, they have the ability make it rain and put teams away when the 2s or tired 1s are up against them

Update from BMatt at Rivals - Pearls quick notes :

- Back spasms for Heron. Sore with pain and we won't know about him until gametime. Getting treatment everyday.
