So who do we want to win this afternoon? ATM or Bama? I'm asking from a basketball fundamentals perspective. We have a better chance beating Alabama than ATM, right? I remember everyone saying how bad of a match up ATM is because of their size.

If it was a regular season game I'd agree and say Alabama but in a tournament setting playing on back to back days I'll take A&M. They only have 3 guards and only one of those is a guy that can hurt us. Alabama has depth and won't struggle as much with the legs playing back to back games.

Honestly don't feel strongly either way. A&M's the tougher matchup but considering their backcourt depth concerns I think it evens out some
If we are hitting our shots & not giving up an absurd # of 3s we will beat either. A&M beat us more because they went 9/18 than because of dominance inside the paint. Bama won the 1st time with Petty hitting 8 3s himself.
Mostly I want them to beat the hell out of each other

We need A&M, beating Bama will not help us secure a #2 seed, beating a 21 win Q1 team in TAMU would really help us..

This is an understatement.
After going 44-60 in the first 3 years, Bruce Pearl had fans rallying to support him in the face of a FBI/NCAA investigation + New AU President threatening to fire him
I don't think Saban would survive 3 straight ~5W avg seasons + FBI/NCAA Invstigations into his program and he doesn't have a checkered past

In PM's VIP "thoughts" thread today he says he's heard from reliable source that Pearl & his team sat down with AU's lawyers before the Alabama game which PM believes means the issue with Pearl not being willing to talk is resolved. Also says everyone he has spoken too in the AD does not believe Pearl's job is in any danger

Pretty sure AU fans/boosters would rather sit through a Pearl show cause than fire him. We sat through sanctions quality bball for ~15 years, what is another 3-5?
Worst case, I'd prefer for AU to just bump Pearl into some Exec AD role and let Harris Adler be "HC" while Pearl is around to help out

I agree, but that isn't some guarantee at this point.
I could definitely see Alabama having Sexton/Petty get hot while Auburn shoots colder than dry ice

I can't get a read on ATM and that's why I don't want to play them. They have the talent, but you're not sure which team is going to come out.
Alabama is based heavily on Sexton so it seems like if we cover the shite out of him then we have a better shot. That's my extremely white boy analysis.
