I always thought 23 was the magic number not to have to sweat anything. We would really need a monumental collapse not to get that number.

Quite a few people are worried we were about to get 2016 South Carolina'd

Pretty remarkable a 1 seed is a higher probability than a 3 seed
No we don't. It's 17% chance of a 1 seed and 20% chance of a 3 seed.

So where do yall think we'll be ranked tomorrow? We have to jump into the top 15, right? 19-2 (7-1) #1 in the SEC
I think we could jump as high as 13th, then we'll win both games this week and break into the top 10 in the next poll at 21-2 (9-1)

Seems to be a few questions
- Does AU jump midmajors (St Marys, Zaga, Wichita)
- Does AU get a "SEC bump" from Big12 challenge win?
- Does UNC (0-2), OU (1-3), Ohio St (1-1), WVU (1-4) drop below us?
- Does someone shoot up the rankings behind us?
I think we have an outside shot of #9-10 but I think we end up #12-13 . We should jump the midmajors, Clemson, OU, UNC and Ohio St
The 3 teams that will stay above us that don't deserve it will probably be
-WVU
-Cincy
-Xavier
-Zona (They've struggled against some bad teams)
Hard to know if we'd be top 10 if we won next week, there aren't many great matchups vs top 10 teams for upsets

Hard to say. We are obviously under ranked, but I'm not sure enough votes are pay attention.
We lack the marquee win to get the attention/respect from voters that haven't watched us play.
I'll guess 15.

Home field advantage: Auburn has not lost a home game in basketball or football this year.

Just a hypothetical here, how would Purifoy have fit into this years team? Taken Okekes minutes?
Posted on 1/28/18 at 11:01 pm to AUcs13
Combination of Brown, Heron, Dunbar, Okeke and Murray. He would have mainly played the 3 with spot duty at the 4.

I'll just leave this here, from RealtimeRPI

Current Record: 19-2 (7-1)
GAMER Projected Record: 29-2 (17-1)

He'd have taken some of Harper/Mitchells minutes as Mitchell would not play as many minutes at the 2 (he get 8-10mpg there now as Heron shifts to the 2 instead
I'd also imagine we'd see an occasional small ball lineup w Purifoy at 4 and Okeke at 5 , especially to protect against fouls in the post. That would eat into Horace/Mc's minutes

This would give teams fits. We could push the tempo like crazy with this lineup. Plus everyone would be a threat to put up the three or drive.

Looking closer at profiles over the weekend, Auburn's really stood out -- and thus the Tigers get a major bump despite "only" beating Missouri and LSU. The Tigers have a top-5 RPI, five Group 1 wins and a 10-2 record against Group 1 and 2. Moreover, some of those SEC wins are only going to grow in stature after the league's performance against the Big 12.
