Read it more as a new HC might want his own guy but the people making the decision would be fine with BVG sticking around with a new regime.

You mean like Jay Gouge? I'd be willing to bet money that Gouge has no idea who is our current DC or OC.

Many think Lowder led the original pursuit of Petrino to replace Tubberville, but it was actually another powerful booster (McWhorter) who led the charge (at least publically) and flew to Louisville (on Lowder's Plane) along with Housel and then President Walker.

I was always under the impression that it was Byron Franklin that headed that up. He was on the plane, I do know that.

Also goes with most of what austudnt23 from AUF told me. BTW in case anyone is wondering he and au23 from Rivals who got things going with his post last Friday are not the same person. They differ on their opinions on a number of Auburn things.

Got a phone call this morning confirming this. Was told it is Patrino and that BVG will be retained!

So, on a scale from 0-1, how close is this guy to the program (0 being not close, 1 being Jay Gouge)....

Eats lunch every other Friday with Gogue and several others. Info didn't come from Gogue himself.

I was just luring you into a wonderfully crafted trap and you side-stepped me like I was Jake Holland.

The letters, calls, sentiment are consistent that people want change beyond the Head Coach. The BOT will not be talking to any coaches or agents. Probable have to have Interim AD, which is not ideal.

The crimes at Auburn are hurting CGC, JJ and TJ as much as anything with Dr. Gogue.

Petrino is an option, BUT a lot of folks opposed. Also, want to improve our image due to off field issues. No clear leader, that will have to wait.

Nothing new, but confirmed by someone in authority.

Like I said I am staying at the conference center and was chatting with some guy who seems pretty connected with adminstration. He was talking with lolley last night in the bar. And apparently there is a lot of fighting amongst all the coaches and administration. Coaches hating other coaches etc... Also said Chiz ran malzahn off and was calling plays last year a large portion of the time. As well as telling defensive coaches how to coach the players. Said having the db's play so far off the line the past several years was all Chiz and not lolley. Lolley was pissed about not being allowed to coach essentially the entire time.

If all of this is true, this confirms what I have been thinking for awhile. Chizik and his medling is a big part of the problem. We need to change HC, if he is here next year, he will continue to do the same. And we will get more of the same.
