Including them doesn't invalidate your argument. There was little development of either... They just learned how to operate one of the simplest offenses in college football at the time and were elite at doing so from the get go

Nick Marshal was a db at uga, there had to be some development on Gus’ part.

A coach with no booster support, a tainted well with identifying with the southern culture, a lack of relationship building and difficulty recruiting will never succeed in this conference. Period.... the damage had been done whether you like it or not, Harsin will not get AU off of the canvass after this week. It’s time to move on. How that occurs is the only remaining question.

It was more excluding them to prevent the typical “bullshite! We won with Cam and Nick” arguments.

Auburn has been on the canvas for years, long before Harsin arrived. You can’t look at our records against UGA, Bama and LSU and tell me otherwise.

Anyone that is arguing that Gus was good at developing QB’s either is being disingenuous or has a very short memory.

If you look at some old footage, IMO Marshall and Mason really did a remarkable job with misdirection on the read option, possibly better than any other combo I'd seen in awhile. If they'd sold it just a little less effectively, I imagine the offense would've had similar woes as any other year under Gus' watch, Cam excluded b/c of course he was an anomaly...

I think Saban has been pretty successful and he eliminated much of the booster involvement day 1.

He didn’t eliminate anything. He told them their role was to shut up and buy players and he would take care of the rest. They probably gave him a couple of years to do it. He was lucky to have hit it big in Yr 2 and 3. But those boosters can get some players. Chizik tried the same thing and worked for a year or two and then the NCAA showed up immediately for the next 4yrs in their ongoing Cam investigation. Ole Miss did it too, NCAA showed up, now T-A/M, and here comes the NCAA. Bama has been cheating so bad under Saban because he is untouchable by the NCAA and Emert. Other programs are not….

Who gives a shut about booster money if Kevin Steele is your head coach?

Plus those boosters won’t stop giving. Their ego won’t allow them to give up the luxury boxes and their names in the program.

It's much more than this, we are talking about hundreds of millions of dollars in athletics and academics.
