Perhaps. Im not sure The Floyd is for everyone. I grew up with it and will never stop listening to it. All of it. Obsession is a good word.

The Dark Side of the Moon holds the record for the longest consecutive run on the Billboard charts without ever dropping off. If I am not mistaken, it is somewhere around 900 weeks. 16 years in a row and it never dropped off the charts. In comparison, the second longest consecutive run is Bob Marley at 350 weeks or something like that. More than double. And it did this in a time where there was no streaming, no internet. If you wanted a copy, you had to get off your arse and go to the store and try to find a copy.

It is timeless music for some. But I do understand that it may not be the balls to young people today.

My wife works with a bunch of younger people. Most of them are 25-35 years old. We have been spending some time with them over the past year and I am very impressed that some of them know some of our music. Gave me some faith.

For what it’s worth, I’ve listened to a lot of Pink Floyd. It’s one of my dad’s bands. I just don’t know what they look like now, nor their names

But yeah, dark side of the moon was probably one of the 10 CDs I had in my car as a 16 year old

One of them is dead and the other 3 are old as frick

Roger Waters is still touring some and still trying to get his fricked up message across. His voice is terrible now and he basically sucks at everything

David Gilmour is retired. I think he is 75 or 76, cant remember. He is hanging out with his lovely wife who is a writer and his grandchildren. Just seems to be enjoying life. If he decided to do another concert, even if it were just one, I would sell everything to go no matter where it was. But it is not going to happen

Nick Mason is playing some with a small band he put together doing some of the old music. Some of the 60's stuff. He is doing well

And unfortunately, we lost Rick Wright.

Floyd hasn't really played together other than one appearance since the 90's. Roger Waters left in the 80's but the rest still are Pink Floyd. They have not broken up, just basically retired

That picture of Gilmour that I posted was from the Gdansk Shipyard concert. It was back in 2006.

When Amazon starts selling Time Machines, my first stop will be Gdansk Poland, August 26, 2006. I would get there early before the other 60,000 fans that came to hear that old man do what he does

Hallucinogens made me enjoy Pink Floyd more than I would have and Auburn cowfields were useful for that endeavor.

What does IM stand for?

TD slang for chat thread. Basically anything you want to discuss. At some point I am sure it was for Instant Message. Some say its a gossip and bitching thread but we try not to bitch. Just gossip

Have learned IM and simp today.. Getting smarter

Saw Pink Floyd in Atlanta in 1994 at Ga Tech. I was tripping pretty hard that night but I think Bill Clinton briefly played the sax that night on stage.

LOL. His name is Dick Parry and I agree he looks like Clinton.

He has been playing with The Floyd since the early 70’s and continued to play with Gilmour until he stopped touring a few years back.

Todays project. In stall 2, 8.8” speakers, add JL amp to push them. Move one set of 6.5” speakers. Mount remote for stereo on back of boat so I can have control when I am in the water. Add cell charging station. Pull and connect all necessary wiring and make it look pretty. Fun times.

Well I am done for the day. Finished the amp install, cut the holes and mounted the 8.8’s and mounted the cell phone stuff. Will do the remote tomorrow. Tired and the weather is here.

The install was not bad other than making my big arse work hard. It was hot too. I drank about 10 bottles of water.

Those JL Audio 8.8’s sound amazing. Now I want another pair and another amp to push them. I just have to find somewhere to put the amp. LOL.

Thanks. I have to find a place near the splash well to mount this remote tomorrow. I have to cut a pretty good size hole so I want to make sure I get it right. LOL.

I will be able to control the music now when Im in the water on the sand bar.

if this is a roll call for day drinking, I'll sign it. a couple of margaritas at lunch and now I'm on to beer.

Lanier, since you enjoy the tequila - I see Sparkle Donkey at my favorite tex-mex place and the name cracks me up. Is it any good?
