There is no explanation for raw data over common sense. Ever.

Auburn: 1-0 as the underdog

Watching this Baylor-SMu game and it’s making me feel pretty good about last Friday’s game.

As I stated in the OP, Auburn’s median offensive play against Baylor on Friday went for 4 yards. SMU in the first half against Baylor has a median yardage of 3.5.

Meanwhile, our D last week gave up a median 2.5 yards each play to Baylor. Today, against SMU, the Baylor O has a median play of 5 yards against the SMU D.

We were +1.5 against Baylor in Net Median yards per play. Today, through one half, SMU is -1.5.

The only reason SMU is leading is because of two explosive plays for touchdown that each went 75 yards. Those two plays account for over half of their first half yardage.

If Baylor can stop giving up big plays, they will win this game. They are moving the ball more effectively.
