Rewatched the offensive cutups in the GA game... overall the offense looked better than they have... there's hope! Some thoughts:

QB - Thorne wasn't as bad as the stat line. 2-3 drops and they were longer throws... Still looks at blitzes and just takes sacks sometimes. Robby had an awesome drive to start the 3Q... went right down the field and scored. Then got pulled out of the game. If a guy gets a drive and moves the ball for a TD, can we please keep doing that until the other team stops it?

Side note: GA LBs actually started respecting Thorne's running ability and it helped open up lanes for the RBs... he needs to keep selling his playfakes. This is a big one for the whole team actually. I think the playfakes are weak. Not sure if we don't drill it or what but many many times they are half-assed. Even moving the LBs eyes and slowing his reaction down by 0.25s can be enough to spring the RB for a first down.

Our receiver room is still pretty bad IMO...
(a) Malcolm Johnson had 2 drops. Not easy catches, but gotta pull those in - or at least go 1/2.
(b) Mardner missed a back shoulder ball
(c) Jay Fair's "Drop" - on that slant was really more of a bad throw. You've gotta put that on his body... you can't make the guy go up like that when he's about to get smacked
(d) Jay Fair's Interception - on him... WTF was that... WR needs to fight for the ball especially if he has positioning. You have position and flop than have a pick caught right on top of your body?

Other guys:
(1) RBs are still good! Battie looked good. Jarquez ran well.
(2) Fairweather can catch, but needs to drastically improve his blocking if he's going to play in the NFL... it was so sad I laughed out loud a couple of times. One time he just flopped over and Jarquez was able to use him as effectively a human shield for a 10 yard gain.
(3) When in doubt, hand it off - Thorne needs to lean more towards giving the ball to his playmakers rather than keeping it. He had a couple of pulls where he kept the ball on inside runs
(4) Our clap snap is insanely easy to time... we can't be doing short yardage inside runs out of shotgun 3rd/4th and short because they're just jumping the snap. At first I thought it was a bad block by the TE but on rewatch the guy jumped the snap way too perfectly

Battie looked awesome all game. Kept giving me KJ vibes wearing 21. I hope he gets as many touches going forward, he’s a great combo of elusive yet bruising.

I didn't go back and watch, but it seemed like there were fewer plays run that were doomed from the snap, like at A&M. Not that they were successful, but they had chance.

I thought we turned the corner on the last drive against Cal.

Outside of the 60-70 yard run from Thorne we really didn't do a whole lot. If the receivers could do anything at all we could score 30+ on LSU but I'm not holding my breath.
