Did we even prepare for Ga St or were we looking ahead and preparing for LSU game? If so, then the poor effort yesterday is on both coaches and players.

I give the Ga. St. coaches a lot of credit for their preparation. I liked their coach a few years back when Ga. St. went into Tenn and beat Tenn in Knoxville. It was almost us today. Got to like an enthusiastic coach who does more with less.

Didn't matter. Our guys should be able to out play them. We should be able to win the line of scrimmage running vanilla pass and run played.

That appears to be what the AU team and coaches thought too in preparing for this game. Ga. St. thought otherwise.

The team looked lost. I asked if they even practiced this week or not, and it doesn't look like they did.

I watched GA State coaches and players, and they suited up. Our side looked like they were going to a photo session. Until their last death spasms where they stood up and found a way to win.

Maybe the Penn State hang over was worse than we knew, IDK. Time to wake up now.

We’ve had 3 scares like this in the last decade (USU, ULM, JSU) with several others that easily could’ve turned into scary situations.

We’ve seen other programs who have faltered inexplicably to G5 teams as well.

Sometimes preparation doesn’t always hit home. I’m sure the team left Happy Valley feeling good about where they stood and how they played. This was a rude awakening for them.

I believe this played a role. Penn St. was closer to a small blowout than a win IMO and I bet the players forgot all the mistakes and fortunate rulings that kept it closer than it appeared.

It may have been mentioned in another thread but did anyone see the interview with Shedrick Jackson? The 4th and goal play call was a fade route!!! When will they learn that we don’t have the receivers for that and it is a low percentage play?

Are you surprised? The whole game was an unmitigated train wreck.

I guess I was hoping they learned their lesson from the Penn State game. Obviously I have put too much faith in them.

Our OLIne looked like entirely different players from last week to this week. I don't know if that was due to the PSU hangover or what, but it's undeniable they played much better against superior talent. Silver lining is, we know they are better than what we saw yesterday. Hopefully, Harsin and crew get this fixed this week.
