Players Era Bracket Announced

Auburn will play in the 8-team bracket out in Vegas a week before Thanksgiving.

There is a separate 16-team bracket that will play the next week during Thanksgiving, however it looks like they broke the two groups up fairly evenly.

Auburn’s 8-team bracket includes three teams in the Torvik Preseason Top 6.

Our bracket (using Torvik ratings):

#4 Houston / #82 Rutgers
#2 Florida / #71 Notre Dame
#34 Auburn / #56 West Virginia
#6 Kansas / #102 UNLV

So we’ll play West Virginia and if we beat them, we’d likely play Kansas.

My guess is, win or lose either of those games, we’ll play a third game either in the Championship or we’ll get randomly assigned one of those other teams.

In addition to the Players Era, we’ll also play #46 Wisconsin in Nashville, #8 Arizona in Auburn, and some ACC team in the Challenge (we’ll likely find that out next week).

This appears to be a much better schedule than the one we had to face last season… a lot of quality opponents but also not a murderers row of teams well almost certainly lose to.
