I think Petrino is overrated as a coach and is a snake in the grass who could never be trusted. After all the issues Auburn has had and the current perception of the program why would you want to hire someone like that to represent the school?

No, Charlie Strong is my #1 choice right now, but I wouldn't be opposed to us hiring Petrino like others would. He's a dick, but he wins. And there aren't many jobs better than a head coaching gig at Auburn. And it seems like it has always been destined to happen.

Think about this: If we did hire Petrino, at least we would have good quarterback play. Maybe not in his first year, but he seems to always end up with great quarterbacks. Brian Brohm, Ryan Mallett, Tyler Wilson, etc.

I mean, besides Jason Campbell's senior year and Cam Newton, who the frick have we had at quarterback that's worth a shite here lately? Trotter? Moseley? Frazier? Todd? Burns? Cox was tough, but he was way inconsistent too.

If we have Petrino I will be excited. We will have an offense than can complete passes and convert 3rd downs/no 3nOuts. That hasn't happened since 2004

We would def need to fire Jacobs first before we made another hire. Maybe that's where our energies should be directed?
We get rid of Jacobs this year and either Chizik puts up or shuts up in 2013 or the new AD can make the hire. Hopefully by then someone like Carroll is available
Re Petrino: You guys realize this is the SEC, right? All you need is a stout defense, a decent QB, and a workhorse runningback and you will be competetive. Petrino never won big because his defense was always subpar compared to everyone else's
