Which games are you terrified of Randy?
That's kind of the thing. I think the schedule is why we should be going balls out to upgrade everywhere we can right now. If we had one of our typical schedules I would agree that yea, we are probably a year or two away and should plan like it.
We have a schedule that sets up extremely well. With an improved team we would have a legit shot at going 10-2 if things went our way, which would almost definitely put us in the playoff. That kind of momentum in year 2 would be invaluable. If we stay status quo we are probably looking at 8-4/7-5 which, with that schedule, is meh and probably stifles some recruiting momentum.

Who said it wasn’t? They weren’t sold on PT by Freeze though.
You are talking a bunch of nonsense. Thorne was not the closing pitch. Thorne is just the stepping stone. Freeze, himself, is the closing pitch. His work with other receivers is his pitch. Freeze isnt selling some mystery quarterback. Stop lying to us. I am willing to bet you that Thorne is day one starter.

Freeze told us almost every press conference this season what the issues were with the offense.
WR WR WR WR… wrong routes, dropped balls, not making contested catches and so on.
Var is one of my favorite players on the teams this season but if he makes the catch in the back of the endzone against Bama it’s game over. So even one of my favorite players I can see where the fault is to blame.
Plus you have to look at it financially. There is no QB we could bring in this portal season that would flip the precieved outcome of games against Bama and Georgia next years. And not sure it would make a difference in some of the toss ups like Oklahoma Mizz etc.
If there is no clear guy that steps up as the backup next season to be a clear #1 to take over in ‘25 then yes we will drop a bag on a portal QB. ‘25 and ‘26 are the seasons we are building towards

Anything less than 8-4 would be a major disappointment next year.

Randy I agree with you a lot but inexperienced defensive backfield, pass rushers, and WR I think with our schedule next season we are looking at 9-3/8-4. 10-2 would take everything going right.

All of this! You don’t upgrade everywhere and not upgrade the most important position. Going 7-5 or 6-6 again next year, and we’re looking at a 2023 Florida situation.

We are literally saying the same thing.

Walker White is a mystery QB? There are plenty of videos and interviews of the incoming freshman talking about and buddying up with White. They obviously believe and were sold he’s the future.

I'm not talking about White. I'm talking about whatever portal transfer you think is coming.
quote:Not at all. Not a single person has suggested Thorne was the pitch to the freshman. He is still most likely our starter. Nobody has suggested we are even looking for a QB.

Did I say the freshmen were being sold on a portal QB? Nope

Corch didnt say the freshman were sold on Thorne either. You have offered ghost argument after ghost argument such as :
quote:
I don’t see how anyone could see PT this season and think to themselves, “hmmm…I really hope that guy is our QB again next year.”
Your shite is getting old and your guy is in the portal as usual.

Plenty have
No. You have.

Freeze told us almost every press conference this season what the issues were with the offense.
And by only pointing toward our (obvious) lack of quality WR's he didn't further deflate what might be a shrinking violet at QB. Which might also play into not publicly chasing another one before the bowl game.
BS, yep maybe, but even you might full of it.

He also squashed it after the bye week and didn’t look back. Thorne looked much better after the carousel.

He allowed the QB shuffle to keep Ashford happy until there was a point in the season when Freeze was brash about he can no longer just keep doing the shuffle and if players dont like that then that is just how it will have to be.
