Until we start signing multiple top 100 overall recruits on the offensive and defensive lines we’re not going to compete for the SEC Championship.

We still have a long way to go this recruiting class. I’m not throwing in the towel yet. We need to get some top guys on campus for the bigger football and basketball games and that’ll give us a chance.

I agree. and in reality OL is an inexact science demanding coaches to constantly load up just for breathing room. Coaches should sign 15 if they want to be pleased by 5. Some are going to suck. Some are going to get injured. Some are going to impress.

Conner Lew? By all accounts he may be the best evaluation they did. Played really well with the ones in the a-day game.

Your point is ineffective and mine stands.

Connor played in a spring game. There is nothing to be learned from a spring game unless you really thought Myron Burton was going to be a stud.

There are injuries and other things as well which were already included in my argument.

Respectfully disagree. Kids parents went to Tech, he is from the state, Tech is in bad shape and the kid can play immediately. Good for him.
This staff has only been together 9 months and we fail to appreciate the improvements during this time and already talking the sky is falling and some changes may have to be made.

Losing Riggs to Georgia Tech is a miss. Losing House to Stanford is a miss. Spin it however helps you but at the end of the day, those are guys that we lost to programs that aren’t Bama, UGA, Clemson, etc. Those are the guys we need.

It’s OK not to pump sunshine up everyone’s asses. We’ve all recognized we have plenty of time left to draw up a new OL board. Whole season ahead, we have the portal, all that. Nobody’s calling for heads yet

This ain’t the thread for you if you need every post laced with positivity.

What some are either are forgetting or dismissing, is we need to win. This coaching staff hasn't had one season of games let alone just one game. Players only have a little idea what this staff is made of and can do. They aren't going to be pulling in classes in the top echelon until this team wins, and starts putting players in the NFL especially OL.

What they are accomplishing with just their reputation and relentless recruiting, is pretty solid. We are going to miss on some to maybe a lot right now. NIL will have more impact when kids know Auburn's program can stand toe to toe with Bama and Uga.

This isn’t directed at you, Rocky. I know you get it. But this is just a PSA for the thread:

Pointing out that OL recruiting has been a bust so far gets people uncomfortable because they assume that’s an indictment on the current staff. But that’s not what we’re actually saying. We just calling a spade a spade here.

I think everyone is well aware the of the OL situation we’re in. Freeze has been really vocal about it as well. I’m even very confident it gets fixed. Still gonna talk about the misses here

OL, is not going well and it's okay to point it out. I just think the coaches have a lot to overcome with how shitty our OL has been and lack of OL getting into the NFL. It matters and some are calling a spade a spade I agree, but think some feel a little more than that and you know this.

Just as it's okay to point out the misses, I think it's okay to remind the board about the challenge our coaches face, and for it not to be considered needing positivity in every post. A balance of some sort.

The only place where on the field product effects recruiting is when we go up against Bama or Georgia for a kid. You could maybe convince me that we are suffering from only 1 year to woo recruits instead of 2. But the "product on the field" narrative needs to die. Florida is recruiting lights out, and their on the field product was terrible. Miami stole a running back our coaches liked, and their product was even worse than Florida's. Is Georgia Tech's product compelling? No. Recruiting is just about relationships and money, not necessarily in that order. Product on the field is a distant 3rd. I considered putting it 4th after facilities. Bama, Georgia, Clemson and Ohio State definitely have a lot of open doors in recruiting thanks to their consistent performances, but I would argue recruiting was good at all those places even when the performances were blah. And is TCU recruiting about to dominate? Did Auburn recruiting skyrocket after 2004, 2010 and 2013? If anything, our current staff's lack of on the field product means we can sell hope in ways 95% of the programs out there can't.
