College football is year to year now. With all the JUCO players, transfers, coaches being fired after a season, coordinators jumping around, etc. It is smart to only plan for one season in advance and coach every year like it's your last.

He was at ark state way before Gus took the job there...they probably know of each other bc of GM coaching high school in Arkansas.

Cole Cubic tweeted today that Lance Thompson was out recruiting for Auburn today and has not accepted an offer from USCe.
I think Lance for better or worse will be the guy. If we can't get a big name guy, might as well go with the lesser name guy you know.

We were all ready to hand the keys to Trob and I think he and Lance have comparable resumes. The only exception is that Lance has been a coordinator before. For that reason I am saying don't be surprised if he is the guy. Especially if we should know by the weekend.

That's the feeling I have towards LT. I think he is best suited for assistant and working under someone else's agenda.

We were all on board for TRob because it was reported that Champ and Durkin were hard after him. No one has been chomping at the bit to make Thompson and DC.

LT is a great recruiter and has connections to build a staff. I say why not. We've tried 3-4 high profile DCs in the last few years and non have worked.
I like his experience with Dlines and LBs. That's where we need to improve the most to be competitive

Cause they are both defensive head coaches. TRob will be a token DC. and should be viewed as such. Much like Rhet here on offense.
