Per JGT FWIW

-As of 7:40 AM completely confirmed Shoop is not involved at all
-Kelly & AU still talking as of late last night
-Had Kelly to AU 30% last night, has it more likely now

-Apparently a poster on AUC who supposedly always brings good info says Kelly by Friday...We shall see.

Now E, I've been busy actively removing any hope I had for Kelly and you're kinda making it hard for me.

I've heard Kelly by friday from several people.

Pruitt was the guy, but AU compliance shot it down for some reason.

They probably shut it down because he is a pos.

That's gutsy by Kelly if he comes here. I wonder if the new head coach retains him in 2017.

He'll get some guaranteed money written into the contract if he did actually come.

Question is this... does the new DC get to pick his own staff or does AU demand RD and LT stay on staff.

I'm sure it depends who they hire and if they have the stones to demand that.
We hire Lolley and I don't imagine he will be hiring anybody himself.

LT is probably staying no matter what. Don't know about RG.

All reports were Boom was able to so if true don't see why the new DC would not be able to.

Also it would be a mistake to let LT go anyway IMO. He's a very good recruiter & solid coach.

Last year, he interviewed somewhere and Franklin went kind of ballistic on him and he withdrew it.

I can absolutely see Franklin doing that. After he left Vandy, it came out that he's a bit of a tyrant in how he controls everything.

As for Shoop, I think he's a solid DC...until you have to play a mobile QB. We had more than 1 QB set their schools "rushing yards by a QB" record against us. He wouldn't be a bad hire though. Maybe he could learn a thing or two by having to match wits with Gus. Or Gus would just think his QB is a wizard on read option-style plays.

Garner & CDC are supposedly the safest on staff.

Tyson Summers from Colorado St might be getting a look. Also heard Herb Hand might be a possibility on the other side. FWIW
