Ok fella its time to start thinking about the season I guess. Still not getting my hopes to high but case levels going down in massive amounts the past few weeks appears the SEC did a good job dealing the start.
Anyway, a few thoughts. I'm not asking who's starting or who's running the ball or stuff like that. I'm asking for predictions of scheme.
TE/HB - In the new scheme is the TE going to be a hand on ground, (Gus traditional) HB, Flexed out or a combination of all. What percentage of each do you expect if a combination.
WR - more slants? Does Schwartz stay outside or move back inside? (I personally like him much better on the inside, much easier to get touches)
OL - I haven't studied a lot of coach Bicknell other then his experience and some of the players he's coached. Do we expect a blocking scheme change like more zone blocking or more man up blocking with the traps and pulls like we have seen. Not sure Chad's preference on blocking schemes as well.

I was listening to one of the beat writers (maybe JGT) and they were saying they expect Schwartz to be used similar to the way bama has used Waddle. Instead of just making him the deep/quick hitter WR, letting him run more digs and comebacks to just try and get him the ball in space without having to get past the entire defense.
My immediate thought was to the TN game that he was fantastic in this role. Last year all you had to do was get in his face on the line and have the safety watching for the deep route.

Yes I hated seeing him outside because he wasn't good at blocking and just playing over the top was good enough to stop him. He's a decent route runner but not a great one. I like him much better on linebackers on short routes, nickel or safety on mid to deep. Only issue inside you take Stove off the field.

I Agree with that too.
I thought trying to make Schwartz a deep over the top threat was wasting his ability except maybe stop and go routes.
He's not a big/strong or tall fella that can contest those deep balls.
HE needs as you said space and quick throws where he can take off and let his speed do the rest.
