Going to my son’s baseball game in the morning, carving pumpkins with the kids after the game, and then headed to the crop maze. Then on Sunday, taking the boat out on the St. John’s to watch the blue angels air show.

Sipping Jameson, organizing tackle boxes, charging batteries, and listening to high school football. Going to fish all day tomorrow and Sunday.

organizing tackle boxes,
Thats my Sunday project. I have a good friend coming to stay with us next week. We are going to do some freshwater and saltwater fishing. I have about 50 rods to rig and two separate sets of tackle to organize and prep. Will take all day Sunday.
Monday fishing inshore in Tampa Bay
Tuesday is undecided
Wednesday we are fishing Ward Lake which is a freshwater lake near my house
Thursday heading out in Sarasota bay for Snook
Friday taking the new boat out 25 miles offshore.
Saturday we will be chilling at the house if we survive Friday
Full week

Ah...I really do want to fish but I never have time to do it
If there's one tip you can give to someone who wants to fish, what tip would you give?

Take up golf. Dont fish. Its a expensive fricking hobby that will suck you in and spit you out.
Seriously. If you want to fish and you have no equipment or knowledge, find a good guide near you and go out with him. Its the cheapest way to do it and you will typically around fish to catch.

The one thing they say about golf, though, is that it’s very cheap

So has the gulf settled down enough to catch anything?
I'm going to be living on the Tallapoosa around Horse Shoe Bend catching spots and red eyes.

The water is fantastic right now as is the weather. Next week is going to be good fishing weather. Hot, calm and low humidity.

Just cruise on down the river and do some cranking around the 280 bridge.

Watching sons HS football game against one of our big rivals. Looked ugly early but our team has a 1 point lead into the half. 20-19. Playing for first place in division.

I usually put in at the city launch and fish above the bridge but I'm stuck in at the bend. It's just too good up there right now.

Just got back from Gallery Night downtown. Hung with my new musical buddy while he played a solo acoustic gig dressed as 1972-era John Lennon. He brought me up to sing “Boris The Spider”. We’ve got a full gig together Sunday night.
Took the wife out to dinner, now outside with the dogs while they have theirs. Gonna have another cold brew, may stay up to see the Orionids meteor shower later.
Tomorrow, a stress free college football day, maybe a little yard work.
Life is…pretty, pretty good.

The 14 year old is about to get fun should be really getting used to the -3 BBCOR bats. The 12 year old probably just about to move into the -3’s and it’s tough to watch as you know plus moving to the new big fields.

Poker if he’s only 7 it can be normal but is he playing coach pitch, pitching machine, or kid pitch?
My boys at young ages were always pretty aggressive at the plate. But I coached some that weren’t. Best advice I could give them was for every pitch it’s yes yes yes and then no don’t swing… not no no no yes and try to swing. Plus at 7 if they are able to catch batted fly balls, balls thrown from other kids, not afraid of hot ground balls you’re ahead of most the kids anyway. Huge difference in talent level at that age. And it all changes once they go through puberty.
