Why are we not hearing Matt Campbell's name more? Has he turned us down? He appears to be more qualified and exciting than most of the names that are leaking.

It has been pretty well documented he has never been in a rush to take a head coaching job and is very choosy about the opportunity to become a HC. it has nothing to do with people not wanting him. He enjoys being a coordinator.

Clark interviewed today. He was told that if he’s offered the job they want him to keep certain assistants and he told them no...but auburn called him back later and now they’re meeting in person tonight at the Sheraton. Clark told him they had to come here if they wanted him. Not sure if they’ve changed their mind about the assistant part of they’re talking again.

Why not? Dude took a dead program to three straight bowls. He has never had a losing season at UAB. UAB had three winning seasons in its history before Clark arrived. Dude can flat out coach football.

He was given a free check from the NCAA. His offense is very meh.

I ask that cause I think Sanders eluded to him being the coach who was interested.

His offense and qb development is abysmal, plus he got help from the ncaa when the program came back and took players other schools couldn’t. He’s a good coach, but wouldn’t do well here I don’t think

You know how I know this isn't true? Because of this statement right here:

quote:

they’re meeting in person tonight at the Sheraton.

This bullshite came from a boomer who doesn't live in Birmingham. I'm in the wedding & event industry and rarely do we ever drop a wedding couple off at the Sheraton. When we do, it's because the hotel was booked by their parents and they live in Cullman.

The Sheraton was a nice hotel... 25 years ago. Meeting there today to hire a coach would be like proposing marriage in a public restroom.
