Of course we would be; A proven guy at the position vs. an unproven guy.

I would take Bill Clark #2, but Will Muschamp is the overwhelming #1.

I personally think Gus Malzahn is all in for Will Muschamp. It's the reason he fired Ellis Johnson when he did, IMO. And it's the reason he isn't taking his typical fast approach to hiring coaches in vacant spots.

I didn't read the word only in 05's post when I said that.

Yes we would. Clark hasn't even coached on an SEC level. Muschamp has been doing it for many years and has been successful at it.

Bird asked for an opinion on Clark. If you disagree, then answer him since you are an expert on the subject.

I will say this. I hope we can seal Boom up Auburnfast so we can steal T-Rob from UF before they finalize Mcelwain and try to seal T-Rob there.

Yes, that would be awesome.

You made the statement before that. I disagreed with it. Sorry if that upsets you.

No I didn't. I said I would be happy with Clark. Nothing about WM.

ETA:

I did say WM only beats him in recruiting. But my other posts were responding to Bird. And I want WM as our DC, too. I was just pointing out the positives of Clark, and he is a better option than everyone else not named WM.

No problem with that.

PM just said if Muschamp doesn't come then Odom is in strong position and Clark could be a significant player.

That makes it sound like
1. Muschamp
2. Odom
3. Clark

Or maybe I'm reading too much into the phrasing

Something to keep in mind. Jimmy Sexton, in the last few days, signed Odom as a new client. Wouldn't be surprised if Sexton is floating Odom's name as an AU candidate just to build his stock.

Does anyone know anything about this guy, other than that he coaches defense at Memphis?

Seems like it would be a huge letdown if we ended up with him...

Apparently he's done very well statistically at Memphis recently. I'm not going to research to verify that though.

He's spent 9 years as an assistant in some capacity on Mizzou's staff. Which also happens to be his alma mater. That's all I know
