Bruce can not only sell it, the committee believed he could follow it up. Imagine having competitive Big 3 sports teams plus some stellar women's teams to throw out there too. Somebody would have to send JJ an apology card from the rant.
The worry is Bruce builds a program at Auburn and the NBA needs a coach and off he goes. But that is always going to be the risk with a great coach in any sport. And if he builds a good enough program don't believe the BBQ thing would stop a big name BB school from trying.

Bruce's style does not translate to the NBA. This is literally the very very least of our worries.

Bluebloods don't hire showmen, they don't need to since their product sells itself. On top of that, Bruce has a bad rep from some things even before the barbecue incident.
I love the guy and glad since he likely stays at AU as a result

I will defer because I know jack shite about basketball and coaching. I hope he retires from here with championships under his belt.
