No, not by Auburn, but word had gotten out by that evening and everyone on message boards was going on about it. It had not been officially confirmed, but the rumors were correct.

Like I said I imagine a meltdown of obscene proportion once Cam got suspended while we were undefeated.Too bad I missed it.

It lasted about an hour. It was a paper work suspension not a real suspension. It had been worked out between the NCAA and Auburn Compliance.

You would have melted your arse off if you knew Cam was suspended and knew of no information.

He said "everyone knew he was suspended" to force the NCAA's hand. That's a lie. If he was actually suspended to an unknown end then show me the receipts. Maybe the wannabe insiders knew he was suspended for a beer piss length of time but stop the peddling.

I know the Auburn board. News like that while we were undefeated would've broke this board. If anything people were fed after-the-fact information that Cam was suspended but quickly reinstated. Handling that pill is much easier.

You’re reading too much into it. I don’t think anyone is saying they knew while it was happening, but after reinstated, yes, everyone was talking about it.
I was on ITAT at that time. That’s 15 years ago. Don’t know if their history goes back that far.

Well as it pertains to Malcolm Simmons I dont like the notion that every suspension or punishment is announced. We dont have a game this week and no need to put out information like injury reports or depth charts.

It was like I said a paper work suspension. And then an immediate reinstatement.
The details had been worked out by Rich Mcglynn prior to it ever going down. So it’s not like it was even a suspension just called a suspension for the NCAA paperwork.
It was silent and kept in house and news of it only broke the day after late in the evening on a Friday night.
