Looks like Maestro 2300 in Ogletree Village next to Moores Mill closed. They have a for sale sign outside

Seems crazy, they always seemed to have a healthy amount of customers and had solid food. Bar crowd was reasonable too + burger night

One of the few attempts that were close to fine dining in Auburn.

I just moved from Ogletree Road, had lived there almost two years, and I had never heard of it.

It is legitimately the only sit down restaurant in the shopping complex at intersection Moores Mill + Ogletree/Hamilton Rd

Either you don't live near the Moore's Mill side of Ogletree or you didn't live on Ogletree

Is that the intersection with the Publix and Beef O Brady's?

It was probably the location that caused them to close.

I've been out of Auburn for all of 2 months and Beef's closed? I'm out of touch already

Beef O Bradys was absolutely terrible. The new Mexican place should be a huge upgrade

Maestro's location was fine. Catered to the Moore's Mill/Grove Hill/East Lake fine dining crowd. I had never been in there and it be empty

I ate there years ago and had a very good experience.

What's left for upscale? Hamiltons?

Hamiltons, The Depot, Acre, The Hound, Live Oaks, and several places in Opelika as well. There's plenty of nicer places to eat

There is a difference between nicer casual restaurants and fine dining. Maestro was the only real "fine dining" in Auburn

This isn't a remark on quality of food btw but the restaurant style and level of service/expectations

The only thing of note on Moors Mill Rd when I was at Auburn was Lee County public lake. I wonder if my 10 lber pic is still down there? I need to go back.....

Development started out there in 93. You are an old man

How often do you go out to high end restaurants?

Not a lot of what I would call high end in Auburn but we go to Warehouse Bistro and Acre and the place in the conference center for dinner maybe 3-4 times a year. J Williams when it was here too. Living north of Shug it's just not a place I've ever driven by or even heard of before. I've never heard of it in casual conversation and it's never come up as a suggestion for group outings.

Not super surprised that you hadn't been there then. If you don't live or golf out that direction, Ogletree Village is basically silo'd and no reason to be out there. Maestro 2300 was a more traditional "fine dining" restaurant that targets the 45-50+ demographic. Limited menu of expensive fancy dishes, large wine selection type place. I wasn't in love with them, but they had their bright spots and frequently ran legit deals in the AO newspaper

They were arguably the only "Fine Dining" restaurant in Auburn. All the other places like Acre, Hound or Depot are more upscale casual.

Graduated in '96. Auburn is so different now from when I was there that I don't consider it to be the same place.
