I truly had no idea Everyone I have known personally that had cancer and died from it went through a lengthy process of decline. Thankfully I only have limited experience in my blood family but I still get a physical each year including bloodwork. As they say the best possible chance of survival is early detection.

The worst I have seen is my childhood neighbor got pancreatic cancer. I think it's one of the worst as far as survival chances.

Over 90% of all people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer die within a year. It’s basically a death sentence. We lost my mother-in-law to it.

We donate to the Robert Reed Foundation which is a gastrointestinal cancer charity. At last year’s benefit, we ran into a bunch of my daughter’s friends from high school. Come to find out that one of their classmates had died a day or two before from cancer.

From my knowledge it is also supposed to be one of the very painful ones also. My son's friend had it in his 20's. He was in the medical field and knew the stats so he decided to end his own life on his terms although a messy way to go out but understandable.
