Armoni outside of Worm will be our fastest back. But yes think Mason more the Dyer. He will be plenty powerful. I think he squats like 550 that was before injury. He is the fastest player on his high team and they included Malachi Moore (bammer), Var Johnson, and Dazalin Worsham( Miami). He has decent hands but that’s the only thing that really jumps out that he needs work in and of course any high school player will have to work on pass blocking. For the older guys another player he reminds me of is Sherman Williams that played for Bama.

Dyer is the same height out of high school but about 20 lbs heavier. Dyer was also 20 by the time he stepped on campus. But similar in some ways. Goodwin is faster, however. Dyer was the ultimate pinball runningback
Shivers is 5-6, 175. He’s a track athlete and looks the part. A bit leaner
Goodwin at 5-9, 190 isn’t a great comparison. He is fast but that’s not the cornerstone of his game when you watch his film. He runs hard between the tackles. He cuts extremely well and has a low center of gravity. Welcomes contact and uses the middle of the field. No gimmicks, spin moves, etc.
We’ll see where he’s at in the fall. I’m guessing he slides down the rankings some as he misses action in key showcases. His game is cut and burst and hopefully he keeps that after the recovery

quote:Even before then he didn't run like a scat back. Saw him play Cedar Grove on ESPN his Soph year & he ran with a lot of physicality. I was impressed.
He really took off physically spring into summer.

I have seen him live pre injury. Maybe he has had some gains. I personally think his ranking is a bit high.

He's very physical and like Jones said isn't a wiggle, spin, juke kind of guy. Has great hard cuts and runs with power in between the tackles. Good vision and also doesn't take the big hit. He would make a great back on stretch type plays, cut backs, and counters. Feet are just to good not to excel.

Goodwin is ranked #43 on 247, #2 RB. (#70, #3 in the composite).
I think he’s a top 5 RB this cycle and around the top 100. So I don’t disagree too much with AUCE there. Especially with the injury concern now.

From what I read, he’s considered an APB along with 5* Will Shipley, and in a completely different ranking list than Cody’s. Either way lightning and thunder were just vague but distinct generalizations. Not saying Armoni can’t make it as a full time starter. MAR has a different makeup than all of them, but if he’s the best back, he may even start.

I'm just thankful we are starting to get 3-4 deep in quality SEC type backs. Now if we don't pigeon hole them into certain roles I'll be happy. Probably the thing that pisses me off the most pigeon holing player and calling time out on first downs to "get the right" play call. Just run a zone read and don't burn timeouts.

I know you are joking, but I saw Trey Sander's a few seasons ago. If there was a 6* rating, he would have it. He made Noah Cain look pedestrian.

Just watched some videos and yes, he definitely favors Tre Mason's style more than Dyer.
Seems like a very efficient runner - doesn't waste much movement and runs hard between the tackles.
It looks like he is in constant "falling forward" mode, which I guess is a good tendency to have as a RB. Just looks odd at times in the open field.

I think OL is still #1 need this year. WR is just fine if they “develop” correctly. I actually think Seth will be the top receiver in the league. The secondary is the next need if you ask me. We have brought in some good players but we need as many as possible to keep up with the other teams around the league. Another good year recruiting at DB and we should be set for a few years. Linebackers will be ok even if we only sign one. QB will be ok barring injuries but we have a good one on board already. As usual Rodney will reload on the Dline. RB and TE/HB are the positions I’m least worried about, we have young talent and can only get better.

OL, DL, and the secondary.
Luckily, we are looking good early on DL with Hunter and several strong leans. O’Brien was a big pickup at Safety. He’ll be a mid-4* guy I think. That offer list is elite
