@LanierSpots - have you hit those bars around the bridge between Long Boat and AMI? If you are there on a Sunday we ride that route. Have you gotten out to the other areas north of AMI? There are a couple of spots out there that my wife's uncle used to take us out to when he had a boat...

I have been down that way a few times. We have also done some day trips to Siesta Key, Nokomis Beach and of course, Lido Key. I have had the boat as far south as Venice and up just above Tampa Bay. I have mostly fished from the Cortez bridge to the upper end of the Skyway Bridge. Thats been my biggest area. We has spent time at Passage key, Egmont Key, Jewfish Key and up to Fort Desoto. Passage is a beautiful place and is just a 10 min run from the ramp we use....

We have hit most of the bars and restaurants in Lakewood Ranch. That is basically where we live....

Exploring Sarasota more but kinda staying this way for now since we are moving down that way next spring and will have plenty of time to do so then. We have been at the big Marina there in Sarasota many times...

Our new house is being build on Clark Road...

I am going to keep this thread going as long as there is interest. I think we all may need a place to escape the venting.....

Working from home all week this week. Doing some assembly all week and I can do it from my kitchen table just as good as at the shop. Planning on hitting the driving range a few days and hopefully getting the boat back this week

Heading back to Georgia in a few weeks. My son and his wife had their first child last week so I guess I am a grandpa..... Looking forward to seeing our granddaughter for the first time...

I have some leave I need to burn before 1 Oct & my schedule worked out to take today off. Instead of laying under my CJ7 for hours cussing the trans, I'm loading up the boat and hitting the river, solo.

Levels are low, water is clear. I'll probably play hell getting up the river, but the fish will be stacked in the holes and I'm taking a few beers for when the bite slows. Hopefully will throw 10 in the cooler and toss 15 more back (fish, that is).

Fish tacos coming soon.

Fishing solo is a surprisingly nice day.

A great way to start the week. Tell me about the fishing? River? I am hoping to get my boat back this weeek. No word yet but that was the plan. As soon as it gets here, I am taking a few days off and heading out to try and catch some snook

Ocmulgee River. It's kinda cool geologically. Fall line that separates the Piedmont region from the coastal region runs right thru where I fish. Muddy at the put in, rocky, sandy and clear where I run to.

Mostly spots & shoal bass, with the occasional large mouth & striper. I'll find a bar, anchor and wade a stretch & then float down. It's pretty clear water, so I'll usually see every fish chase, hit or spook all day long.

I've caught 25 in a few hours, but you can get a bunch of dinks. A one pound river spot or shoalie will fight like a 3 pound lake fish.

I've also caught a few 5lb + shoal bass, which is a trophy level shoalie. They'll make your heart race.

Also, can't really hit it until about 10:30 AM. Sun gets high enough and shadows shrink, makes running the shallow river easier on me and my prop.

Oh yea. I know it well. When I grew up, my dad use to take me there. He was in a huge hunting club just below the Jackson lake damn. I remember those days. Also spent plenty of time as a kid at flat shoals. We ran trot lines and limb hooks down there during the summers. Catfish, those nasty eels. Damn that has been a long time.

Not yet in my home. My shop area is under evacuation as it should be since it is zone A. I went there this morning and did what I could to protect my inventory and equipment. Only time can tell now. I am on the second floor but it is a older building. I have no doubt there will be water in the parking lot there.

My house may come under evac but we can’t go anywhere. My wife will be on lockdown at the hospital so my son and I will be left home alone to ride it out.

One of my best friends lives in St. Pete’s. No orders for him yet although they’re leaving today I think
