He’ll yeah we did. I said two things that we’ll look back on as worst decisions (excluding potato head) in AU football could be not hiring Kirby and Summerall. Kirby is not acknowledged much as even thinks he’d moved on to UGA anyway, but for an ex- HC AD to not make Summerall happenis ridiculous. Especially with his ties here.

theres still something skeezy about Sumrall, but there’s little doubt his team was far better prepared last week - we’ll see if that works out for them long term
i’m still happy we ended up with Golesh as he’s by far the best HC we could’ve gotten given the belligerent incompetence of our administration
i think we need to settle in and give him a chance to establish himself - and i agree Cohen needs to GTFO but its likely whomever we hire to replace him will be no better

Based on a WSJ article Sumrall stressed the offseason workouts to get better and I imagine they stressed it a lot more than we did.
That stupid sled video had me shaken in my boots and I no longer trust Golesh and neck tattoo strength and conditioning coach.
Physicality transcends offensive play calling. That's why I am worried Sumrall is for real.
Yes Sumrall has a great OC calling the game. That OC will eventually be HC one day. But if he can keep the physicality it's merely next man up calling the plays.

Football is about who has the best players. Jon talked his best to stay. We didn't really aquire anyone that can change a game. We have bottom of the SEC type players, and we will finish bottom of the SEC. Even UKs coach knows you need players to win.
