I think it’s got to stay. Too much history. It’s four closest SEC rival outside of Bama.
And we recruit so much there it helps in recruiting I think if they are on our schedule every year.

I have gone back and forth on this but (for me) it all boils down to Tenn and Florida.
If Georgia stays a permanent rival, we play the other two far less.
I want to play all 3 as much as possible.

have zero care, but I've lost pretty much all interest in college sports (all sports actually) over the last several years.
It’s not just sports. People are feeling apathetic towards everything. My theory has always been that the greed and corruption / collusion has destroyed a lot of what we used to really care about.
I want this program to get back on its feet. I still have PTSD from 2013, 2014 and 2017. I have said it many times and it literally makes me sick to have to repeat it: “We should have done what Clemson did from 2013-2020.” We were one of the hottest programs in the country and never capitalized on our 2 Natty appearances. Instead, we got Charmin soft and let Georgia turn into a beast.
Our Old School, blue collar, bring your lunch pale with ya because we are gonna kick your arse mentality passed away with Coach Dye.

We would not play fla and tenn less, under each proposal we would play each non-permanent opponent every other year. A home and home with every SEC team every four years.
I like the 3-6 model. Imo rivalries are what make college football special.

Why not go 2-7, 2 permenant rivals and then rotate the other 14 teams every 2 years

Clemson recruits Georgia successfully and they don't play UGA every year.

I'd be lying if I said the current trend isn't influencing me. But I just don't really care that much either way. The concept of intermittent rivalry games to open up a bigger variety of opponents doesn't bother me. I wouldn't want to stop playing UGA with regularity, but in theory I probably don't have an objection to it not happening every year.
Regardless, I'm intrigued by the idea of having a "fresh" schedule every year, as these days I feel like we're mainly playing a repetitious schedule of meaningful games in LSU/UGA/Bama, maybe A&M (and usually losing these games), then several with no real upside as a fan against Ole Miss/MSU/Arkansas.

As long as Emmert lets our two biggest rivals to cheat and get away with it I say end it. Maybe NIL changes that though, but a lot of catch-up to do.
