How did the term “boogs” originate?

I am curious to know how the term “boogs” originated to describe Auburn? Some of the other terms, like cow college – West Georgia - Barner, etc- I understand….but I don’t get the whole “boogs” reference. I don’t even know what a “boog” is. Could someone shed some light on this for me?

bama fans came up with it alluding to the fact that auburn fans eat boogers
(another reason to ban all bama posters from our Auburn board
)

The only time I heard it was on here. Bama had a POS poster named cajunbama. He used it all the time.

I've heard it in my own home during a football party I threw two years ago. I have two cousins that are bama fans(not grads, one attended one semester) and they brought a friend over. I even set up a second TV for their precious game outside in my kitchen area. While drinking my booze and eating my food he continually referred to Auburn as "boogs" and spewed a bunch of the usual BS that he knew absolutely nothing about(usual diatribe of lies)

Those types of Bama fans are the worst, and most of them act like they were on the damn team and that there life has purpose now.

Pretty sure that is where it started with either PC Bammer or Bammer Alex. I can't say anything bad about PC because he recently passed away but Alex is a douche of the highest order.
