Prior to Freeze and 2012, Ole Miss went 4-8 in 2010 and 2-10 in 2011. Is Auburn’s QB and WR room really that much less football-smart than that 2012 Ole Miss team that came into 2012 having gone 6-18 over the previous two seasons? I guess the only logical answer to my question is yes.

How much of the 2012 team went through spring ball vs our team, especially QB?

CFB has changed significantly since 2012

Freezus's offense was completely new then, much like Gustav's the following season, defenses hadn't made adjustments to it yet

compare it to the joyless murderball that Bama was playing then

I am unsure of what our responsibilities as a WR were like under Harsin, but we all know their resonsibilities under Gus were rigid and set in stone. We had the deep guy. The bubble guy. Gus had guys doing roles. Harsin might have had less rigidity, while Freeze is offering the chance at option routes. Is our offense so flexible that every single pass catcher has the option to break off the route on every single pass play, I doubt that. But I would not be surprised if each pass play has at least one that's looking for softness in the defenses.
