My family comes up 1-2 times a year from Florida but we only come for the game and game day. So this year we plan to stay 3 days what is there to do besides the game? Is there any other sports going on (9/1 to 9/4). My grand son (12) and kids (30-34) will be with me. Thanks WDE

I don't know what kind of things you guys like to do or how far away from Auburn you would be willing to go but you could take your grandson to Great Wolf Lodge in Lagrange for a day if he's into waterparks.

Callaway Gardens is always a cool place to spend a day and rent/bring bikes to travel around the property and they have a hot air balloon festival every Labor Day Weekend, though it may be super hot and crowded. The Wild Animal Safari Park is decent for kids if you've never been to one. If you journeyed that far I would continue on to Warm Springs and eat the buffet at the Bulloch House.

It looks like there is a soccer game on Sunday afternoon if that would be of interest at all.

I have never done it but they advertise Whitewater Rafting in Columbus. Might be a fun family activity.

Hope you and your family have a great trip whatever you end up doing.

Chewacla State Park has a lake, swimming area, playground, picnic areas, and trails for hiking. It is conveniently located.

On Friday at 4 before game day the raptor center has a birds of prey show. It’s really interesting.

Thanks I think I been there. I went to a park that has water falls near the Stadium last year.

That would be nice but we are getting there late for that. Is it open on the weekends?

WW Rafting in Columbus is not bad…not awesome, but good safe fun for younger kids.

Pine Mountain is not too far and has really good trails and a good lookout.

Good hiking in Providence Canyon if you want to stop on your way up…it’s near Eufala.

Downtown Opelika has some decent shops and restaurants…Cakeitecture Bakery has great AU themed treats.

Chewacla State Park.

I’m sure there are things to do in Montgomery.

Montgomery has a new whitewater rafting park that looks like fun. You might also want to visit the zoo or the safari park.

Thanks about the Montgomery things but we may not go that way.
I thank all for the ideals and any others.

Funny enough I attended Auburn from Fall 89 to Spring 95. Moved back in the Fall of 97 and then moved my family back from 2002 to 2014...

And I have never been to Chewacla. LOL
