Had a construction job in college making big dough at the time. We were working 6 12's so you got a boat load of time and a half. I was clearing $500-600 a week and I was too tired to spend anything! Showed back up to Auburn as a baller.

Thats great. Its wild how much we have now and really how little we appreciate it.

When I graduated high school, I had applied to 3 colleges. UGA, Auburn and Georgia Tech. My plan was to go the engineering route since I liked tinkering with electronics so much. I got accepted to all three colleges but ended up going to Devry in Avondale Estates. A fast track to a BA and I was loving on my wife at the time whose parents were too poor to send her to college so I stayed at home and drove from Griffin to Decatur everyday.

I got a job working at Thurston Motor lines unloading trucks after school. I had been making 3.50 per hour in high school. I started there at $8 and hour and I worked there the entire time I went to Devry which was about 3 years full time. When I graduated, I was making $12 per hour working on the docks

Got my degree and applied for a engineering job at a local place near my home that I had really targeted the entire time I was going to school. I got hired there immediately and my salary was $20,800 per year.

So I had to quit a job unloading freight making $12 to start my engineering career to make $10 per hour. No lie. I had gotten married at that point and needed the full time job with benefits.

I ended up keeping the job at Thurston for 4 years after I started engineering and basically worked weekends and at night when I could because my wife started Pharmacy school just after we got married. On our dime $150K in school loans

I do think at major colleges, if you want to compete, they all have to include that type of payout if fired.

Probably right. It is really hard to imagine we are pulling Harsin across the country from his alma mater BSU, which he clearly loved and basically has a near lifetime guarantee, without some significant guarantees.
