My impression of Hugh is he’s just as pig-headed as Gus in not willing to imbibe other ways to do things behaviorally or schematically. One example being him always going on about “we have always done a good job of turning things around” not accepting that not all turnaround jobs are the same. If he is willing to change his attitude and behavior, we will see some change in performance.

He said that in his hiring press conference. He also said he believes he can turn things around quickly because of the portal. Since then he has about face that approach and built through HS and bandaided through the portal as compared to the Lane Kiffin approach. Freeze has even admitted one time since then he isnt good at the portal.

It's not his personality, wit, or humor... good or bad.

Hugh preaches, Bruce praises.
Hugh gets hung out to dry by a reporter, Bruce doesn't answer that part of the question.
Hugh lacks culpability, Bruce's guilt is out there for the world to see.

And all these are all learnable.

Because it's not their persona as much as their credibility.
