We gained those back as the game went along.
That’s not really how it works. Kind of like vs Miss St when Mcrane got lazy on a ground ball and they scored 5 runs with 2 outs. It’s impossible to beat a team like UGA giving up 5 runs with 2 outs. The other part is we have so. any holes in our line up. We cant overcome 5 run deficits.

You’re not gonna see Belyeu over Bristol in regional play at this point lol.

I love AU but damn I am tired of getting hyped up for these big games and we lay an egg

It’s the regular season. Now time for the real stakes.

We dont have near as complete of a lineup as Georgia. Cade and Mccrane arent putting any fear against pitchers. Neither is gregorio or Steele.
We played and pitched decently well.
Two of the homeruns they lifted were not bad pitches. The HR by their big guy we got him lunging out in front and he all arm swung that pitch for a HR.
The lupo HR was just a tough break. When their lineup is so deep the lunging and out of the strike zone swings is what we want since they all can tee off in one swing.
As for me I think after cade knocked in a run and their pitcher Farley looking rattled- I thought B Mccrane killing the inning with a first pitch weak popup with the top of the lineup behind him with base loaded was a big deciding factor. It allowed Farley to recover and stopped our big inning from escalating.

Alvarez was pressing from the start. To me, he felt he had to be "better" due to Georgia's offense instead of just being himself.

We fell to number 5 in RPI.

I don’t think anyone does.
But they’re a fiddler crab. The starters have looked good against us but they’re gonna have to dig deeper than they have so far to sustain a run.

When this team is on, they can beat anyone. Won 6 series last in a row over really tough teams. I had a feeling a letdown was coming. Still, two games decided by 3 runs against arguably the best team is the country and had a chance to win them both. Anyone who knows baseball knows this is a very good team, but young and a little streaky. Need to win today and win one in the tournament. Either way, once the NCAA starts, none of this matters.

Tired of excuses … we haven’t won a single game against Alabama or UGA this year in a big 3 men’s event

Big Ben, I don’t think we laid an egg. Actually happy at our fight even though we came up short. Dre was over pitching like he did at UF, and they can hit. If Bub could have read that throw to first and scored we would have been with 1 run there which wouldn’t have seemed more insurmountable.
Today is a new day and I think Petro’s stuff will play against their lineup.

Baseball is a funny game. Both games we were within a single swing of the bat from a very different outcome. Sucks to lose but that’s baseball. Game of inches.

Yep. We need a win to finish 5th in sec but looks like the double bye is out

It seems like the everything has come with two strikes all series.

We might get swept. Lose 4 in a row after a gauntlet of series wins
