Why didn't Coleman just lay down on the field if he was hurt? Wouldn't we have gotten an injury timeout?

I wonder if Coleman saw the play was coming to him and was trying to just signal, no no no?

Of course they went right to him.

I do think laying down would have been best bet. Rookie mistake.

Heck, Coleman wanted out on the last play, but some dumb-arse coach held No.4 from swapping spots. And there was time to do it!

Yea, I saw that but maybe the sideline didnt. Not sure. But, if Coleman was unable to use his arm to catch the ball and could not get out of the game, he should have just ran a short route and fell down or something. By him running the go route, Throne considered him a option.

If he cant get out and we dont have any time outs so he cant "go down" before the snap to save the time run off, he just needs to take himself out of the play when the ball is snapped

thats a great question

eta: It means Freeze is an idiot. He let his player be injured instead of taking the injury time out. Why did he let Cam keep playing? Freeze said "the clock was running".

He was trying to run off but coaches wanted him to stay so that Cal couldn’t take their time by subbing. Made since we ere in hurry up

It’s just unfortunate that Thorne threw to him but regardless he wouldn’t have caught it, it would still be picked

I appreciate the OP’s insight from being there at the game. We can only see so much watching it on TV, but I knew there had to be open receivers throughout the game and Thorne simply cannot read a field.

There’s no point in playing Thorne anymore.
