These frickers are a bucket list fish for me. I have actually been to the Amazon (Manaus) for business and caught arapima. Those dudes are prehistoric huge gar looking beasts.

I have colleagues who are from central and south america in my business unit and had been planning a central american trip to catch Peacocks, but since I heard that these are in the canals in Lauderdale...score. DHL is based in Plantation FL. I can go down for business to the HQ and stay the weekend with friends and catch these dudes.

Snakehead are pretty common in places along the Atlantic coast too. Talk about a weird, fricked up fish species

That's awesome. I kind of wish I had been there for it, but the fact that I passed out at nine after two beers and chinese takeout makes me think it was for the better that I wasn't downtown
