Dang, Miller went from starter to #3 in less than 2 weeks.

Miller really needs to redshirt this season... he's not physically there.
If I'm miller, I take this fall and redshrit... come back in the spring and compete... if I'm still 3rd on the depth chart, then I'd look at my options for transfer.

Fun fact, his girlfriend goes to Auburn. He has been in Auburn a few times. Also, he is a douche canoe

Not hard when Everett Golson had Denard Robinson quality accuracy. Rees has been the luckiest SOB in the wolrd in terms of being the starter for ND

Glad to hear the RT is down to Avery and Coleman... both will be great OL. I wanted to see Avery start. He has skills.

Patrick Miller is just too small. They have had a weight target for him posted and circled for months and he still can't get there.
ETA: With a good year I can see Greg Robinson declaring if he projects 3-5th rounds

Here is some speculation from BM based off his insider notes. If JJ is the starter, he thinks Marshall could play Wildcat. If Marshall is the starter, He thinks the the staff will find a way to play JJ to get him ready because teams need a backup who can step in and play if there's an injury.

So BM is pretty much saying a 2 QB system that Malzahn adamantly states he does not want. Gotcha.

I don't think that's what he's saying. I think if Marshall starts, Johnson gets clean-up duty if the opportunity arises. If Johnson starts, they'd probably use Marshall as the wildcat QB because he's one of the best running threats on the team and he can also throw. It just gives the defense something else to consider when he's in the game. But I don't think two QBs will take significant snaps either way

The Wildcat has gotten a lot of grief in the past, and with good reason, because of the guys we were using most often in the position - namely Kodi and Kiehl - were never, ever a credible passing threat. The reason that our offense would often lose its rhythm whenever we ran a play from the wildcat formation is because, more often than not, it ended up a wasted down. In other words, it was the Jimmies and Joes, not the Xs and Os.
Having someone like NM with above-average running ability AND the ability to hit the occasional pass downfield (in-bounds, that is) would cause all kinds of problems for opposing defense.
I'm totally okay with JJ starting and NM coming in as Wildcat - especially if we could get him in without sacrificing the HUNH pace.

Poster on AUC says the pick is Marshall. KK responded so maybe he'll post here soon.

I'd rather they just wait an announce a starter when they know. It doesn't matter to me who are the top 2 or 3, just say it when there's a starter and who the backup is.
It would give players who might want to transfer to a Troy or Jax State time enough to pack up and enroll though.
Not saying any would want to or even will... just raising the possibility.
