It certainly appears that they suck arse, which is pretty remarkable considering the supposed talent back there. Foster's bitch arse would have started. I hate him.

You would think we could find one or two who could at least play it solidly like a Josh Bynes. Not flashy or brilliant, but steady and mostly mistake free. Frustrating to say the least.

What about Ladarious Owens? He was having a good spring and havvent heard anything since...

Also Horton said he expects Rudy Ford to play this year and Barber to redshirt

Garner said he was very dissapointed with the Dline play in the scrimmage. Sounds like they suck again too

Rodney having a lot higher expectations and this may mean they look better than last year...

DL should be good this year. Secondary seems to be the strong point followed by DL.

I saw that too. I'm wondering though if this coaching staff set the expectations extremely high. Would be easy to see where Chizik and company won the NC in 2010 then lost control of the reigns/let the foot off the gas. So even if the D Line is disappointing to this staff, they are better than last year bc expectations have shifted dramatically.

I would think Garner, after his time at UGA, wouldn't let them get away with anything.

EDIT: RockyMtnTigerWDE beat me to it

How much of this do you really think is 100% true and not just the coaches trying to light a fire?

I don't know, but I was feeling pretty good about the season until the last few days. I hope things are being down played.

I think the coaches are not going to give praise just yet. They are trying to get these guys tough, focused, and learn their assignments. They want them playing at a high level and expectations are high. I wouldn't expect anything else at this point. As the game draws near we most likely will see more praise of play.

Honestly after watching the Dline last season I don't think they're exaggerating. This is also why I'm not surprised Bradley and Adams are getting serious looks at 1 and 2.

When a coach says something positive: ~60% true

When a coach says something negative: ~90% true

it's science

I absolutely think this is the staff playing down the ability of the team. Not saying we are going to win the west, but I think Gus has shown he is playing close to the vest in everything he does. I think just like aspects of his offense he will use elements of surprise whenever he can.

Things I know. Holland is the worst MLB I've ever seen at AU. He's trending to start. Coaches don't really need to say anything.

Damn, Adams is a big boy.

Trey has definitely bulked up.

As much as it hurts to hear, I have a much greater appreciation for this vs the "they're going to break records" type speak that used to be fed to us

I agree that they are downplaying and I think they are also well aware that the players know what the coaches say to the media. Gus and company are trying to get everything they can out of the team right now.
