You've been here long enough to know any thread can turn into a shoot the shite thread...

We are an unruly bunch.

I can't handle the hangovers anymore(42) so I only drink once or twice a year now. I still catch a buzz daily but I have other methods that don't make me feel like shite the next day. The downside is I often find myself in the kitchen wondering why in the frick I came in there.

Apparently Ellis will call plays from the booth...Rhett will be on the sidelines.

Paraphrasing some tidbits from the War Room ...

quote:

CDavis and JMincy have been playing a lot of press coverage in practice as the Tigers prepare for Wazoo - something that hasn't been seen from Auburn corners in a very, very long time.

Let's hope.

quote:

Garner continues to "kill" Monty, which is good. He's known to come down the hardest on the players he thinks have real talent and those players that need to contribute. That's Adams.

Encouraging.

Other notes ...

Mason and CAP to get upwards of 90% of carries this year.

Offense has really struggled the last week, including Marshall. Not executing to the exacting standards of Gus and Rhett.

Quan and Trovon first options on bubbles, which excites the shite out of everybody, I'm sure. Ricardo expected to be the best receiver this year. Sammie still can't catch a ball.

Cameron Toney impressive with intelligence and picking up defense. ASwain also surprising people.

KHarding likely to redshirt and even taken off STs.

Any word on when an official depth chart will be released?

I don't believe shite Gustav says about the offense.

That's a downer. He has the size and athletic ability to be all world. I guess he just has stone hands. Chris Slaughter had the best hands of any WR I had ever seen at Auburn, he just couldn't get his shite together.

Malzahn said he hopes to have that figured out by early next week. I'm assuming it's probably mostly a done deal at this point, but he's just keeping as much as he can from the media for as long as he can, which I don't have a problem with.

Exactly. Gus knows what he's doing.

The talk about not executing to his standards doesn't really worry me too much. He's as detail oriented as they get and even if they're running it well, it's not up to his standards.

I asked this of Ryan Black yesterday, and he said there was chatter amongst the beat writers that Gus might not release one -- that he's that secretive and/or paranoid.

yep.

Until we are going untouched every play on offense, we won't be performing up to expectations.

The way things have progressed through spring and fall, this seems like the mostly likely scenario.

More notes
-CAP looks very possible for getting Wildcat plays as he is a strong runner in SYS. Tre & Bray also took Wildcat reps the past 2 weeks.
-Prosh expected to in pass game on check downs & in screens.
-Louis, Denson, Butterfingers first options on deep passes.
-Swain has taken the lead as the #2 @ Will behind Cass and expected to be an important contributor.
-Uzomah was a big time leader this week, especially when the O struggled.
-Unlike the past, Dye & administrators are not attending practice freely anymore.

That's good to see. I always had high hopes for him. He was a really big safety in high school and I always thought a move to LB was in his future. I'd like to see Mitchell step it up too. Johnson was gushing over him at the end of spring. I think he needs to put on another 10-15 lbs though, which is going to take at least another year, but he's only a RFr so he's got time.

Can we just take the wildcat outback and shoot it? Do you guys think this is still a viable set? At least with a former QB there is a threat of a throw, but with CAP won't the D will just key on him running, right, left or up the middle?

I hate when we run the bubble screen. I also hate when other teams run the bubble screen against us.

I don't want a running back running the wildcat. Let NM run it.
