Please don’t start basing opinions on 5 min videos of practice.

Thanks,

Offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham was giving Gatewood the most coaching, it appeared, during one period of passing drills

I need to know if it was next level coaching though.

Were TD passes being critiqued?

This must be a poster from here.

From the comments under the video

This would be a real winner on the recruiting thread.

He was throwing them in the end zone so maybe?

Was there a defense on the field?

Yes, on another part of the field, but they were there.

To go along with Jones’s earlier report, Nix was once again (3 or 4 practices in a row) first QB out for the pace drills.

I think they need to let them go live for at least part of the next scrimmage. Its time to find out who's ready.

You don’t think they’ve seen Joey go live by now?

Do you think this could be some gamesmanship on Gus' part?

I hope so, but the rest of the indicators say this is Bo’s job.

It's a thought that has popped up for sure. LOL

I mean, can you rule it out with how secretive Gus is?

Not recently. He may have improved since then (Or not). I just think it would be better to have them go live one time and see who does well under pressure as opposed to waiting until week 1 and seeing who does well.

If you don’t think Gus has known who his starting QB is going to be since early in Fall camp (at the latest, I’d imagine), you’re letting the beat writers influence your thinking too much.

But if I remember correctly, the players all talked about his ability to run when he is live during Spring. I am guessing they have gone live by now.

These "insiders" are seeing only a little bit of practice.

That's just it. Gus' level of paranoia is apparently off the charts. The press sees very little of practice. Hell, they don't see a second of practice. They just get to see a few drills.

Closed practices are not just a Gus Malzahn thing. It happens on campuses of major college football programs across the country. Why would you allow other programs the strategic advantage of seeing your practices?

That's not the point. The point is nobody knows who the starting QB is just because one starts drills with the press there.
