Of course you're not.
You cannot put the Arky loss on Hank Brown but I am supposed to the Oklahoma loss on Thorne? Thorne was responsible for 6 out of the 11 point lead. He was also directly responsible for much of the points that game. frick outta here.
Georgia? He didnt win it but he certainly wasnt THE PROBLEM so why is he the PROBLEM.

Did he say what the play was supposed to be?
He said they called a dive to Hunter. Thorne clearly made some type of an adjustment pre-snap. Like you said, doesn’t matter at this point. Either way, we fricked it up.

I take that back then.
But it does sound like Thorne is saying it was an RPO.

Makes it look even worse for Thorne because their was no -PO option the way he was going, only receiving options was to the left

Ultimately we are in agreement here though, so I don’t see the need to continue to belabor the point. Sucks we just can’t execute when it matters

Where did I say that? All I said was Brown had 1 bad half. Thorne has had numerous bad games. I also pointed out that Thorne played as much as Brown in the Arky game. Feel free to show me that any of that is wrong.

Do any of you guys understand nuance at all?
It doesn't have to all be a single thing.
Did Harsin leave us in a terrible position? Yes.
Do we have the talent to win consistently and compete for championships? No.
Do we have the talent to be better than 2-4 given our schedule and the way the games have played out? Absolutely.
Is Throne a championship QB? No.
Has he played well enough, outside of the Cal game, to keep his job and give us the best chance to win? Yes.
I hate to defend Freeze or jang because both of them present their positions so poorly but to be honest they are somewhat correct. Last season wasn't even frustrating because we just weren't good. This season we are playing decent football overall we just have no idea how to win football games. It's a handful of losing plays every week that cost us. Is that incredibly frustrating? Of course. Are we, despite our record, and improved team from last year. Yes. Last year we had several games where we didn't even go over 100 yards passing. Now at some point there has to start being a payoff and we are to that point. We have several difficult but winnable games coming up so he/we will have chances to prove we can turn some of this decent play into Ws. We really need to go at least 3-2 over the next 5.
As long as Freeze keeps bringing in the talent we have to suck it up and hope that it eventually pays off because you can't win without it and we've been so far behind our rivals in that regard for so long now.

From the replay where was the RPO?
Hunter does a lazy fake run and immediately goes right to block. He didn’t act at all as if the ball was going in his hands was an option.

Yet, people still want to bench Thorne.

Yet he still would have lost by 3. Like I said, you'll get your wish when we lose out. At least Thorne will be the starter. That's what really matters.

Randy, you talk about nuance, but I don't think the posters understand relative either.
Bad losses, worse losses, NM State losses, and so on.
cold, lukewarm, mild, hot
The stupid question "what is worse than a loss" is the stupidest question that I have heard tonight. There is losing, and then there is imploding. We have to show just enough credibility on the field to keep the recruits bought in. We have to win in some way, and if even when we don't win we have to show promise. Why in the world would we test putting in the backup just for the hell of finding out how bad it can actually get. If you do not think the younger guy is the future, why even entertain that worst case scenario?

Don't disagree. Not saying this is the same thing at all but Saban didn't have a good record his first year but Bama was competing in every game. So far I think you can say the same for us. We just have to clean up the simple things although that's kind of a double edge sword.
On one hand, it seems like it should be easier to correct the mistakes. On the other hand it's worrisome that we can't get them corrected.

You must be so miserable shilling for the backup QBs that cannot even get on the field.

That sounds like your wish more than anything. You cannot point out the data that our backup QB can put up a single point in the SEC, and that just eats you up.

Assuming that holds up, the Cal and Arkansas losses look less bad. And last year’s New Mexico State loss a bit too, based on Pavia and Vanderbilt beating Bama.
