Interesting to see where he ends up
Most schools that recruited him hard have replaced coaches or he isn't released to transfer to by AU

He'll end up at a P5 or equivalent mid major. His 1st step quickness is off the charts and he is a true pass 1st pg. I hate we are losing him but I can see why he doesn't want to spend 2 more seasons behind Harper. I think this puts us in the grad transfer market with either a pg or a cg depending on what Heron decides. If he hates school as much as is rumored he is probably gone and we'll go after a CG. If not it could be either depending on how much we want to play Samir at the point.

Don't be shocked if Heron goes pro.
He better take a class in Lithuanian, Greek or Croatian.

I could see us looking at ab development guard prospect who'd redshirt/emergency depth or a transfer
I know 2019 class is where we plan to go big but we need to space people out better

We are about to be royally fricked if anybody else decides to go pro and we have ZERO fricking recruits.
Royally fricked? We have 12 guys, each of which is playable. If Heron leaves we have 11 playable, talented guys and will be preseason top 20 (at least). If Wiley and Heron leave, we are down to 10 playable, talented guys and will still be preseason top 25 most likely. If we get down to 10 we will almost certainly add a grad transfer.
Royally fricked? You haven't watched much Auburn basketball in the past 15 years, have you bubba?

I'll bet he ends up at GT

Yeah it sucks from the standpoint that we don't have another true backup pg. and it was clear that Mitchell was talented. Good defender, pass first pg, that was more confident with his shot towards the end of the season. Would have a solid piece to have on the team.
But we should have plenty of players to step up and fill those minutes next year. Getting Harper back to midsession form will be a big piece to this team clicking next year. We will be fine without him.

Maybe they play Bryce Brown more PG minutes next season to help his professional chances

Why would we play Bryce more minutes at PG?

Because
A) We don't have another PG on the roster to back up Jared Harper and
B) 6'3" SGs really don't exist in pro basketball anymore. Most 2s are 6'5" plus...

College coaches don't just experiment with things to potentially improve their player as a pro prospect.. They just want to win.
Maybe occasionally at the margins they will lean one way if it helps the players future out, but not when it as the expense of the team. Doughty will play backup pg and small possibility of a grad transfer.

Did Samir Doughty transfer too? Doughty is a combo guard who is a much better PG option than Brown
Quite a few people who've seen practice believe Doughty is the best offensive player on the team

.... Auburn isn't a pro basketball school though, how does this affect us? If the game is on the line, we should put the best PG option in, which is Samir Doughty
Bruce/AU should absolutely encourage Bryce to improve his PG skills from dribbling to passing to finishing. If he can develop enough to be a better option than Doughty, sure he can play backup PG minutes..... I just don't see that happening

Davion Mitchell is headed to Baylor per his Twitter.

Weird
Why? Baylor seems like a match made in heaven for Mitchell
- High major conference
- Regular NCAAT team under Drew (4 of past 5, 6 of 9)
- No PG competition, struck out on HS PG recruiting + current PG + grad transfer PG are seniors

I'm not over here breaking down Baylor's roster
Still don't think transferring to a school consistently in the top 25 past 9 seasons in the alleged best conference is weird
Wouldn't say they are a favorite but it isn't crazy
