Which Barfield era linebacker would you take?

Others?

Those teams were tough. George Stephenson on the offensive line had a mean streak.

Everybody knows Brooks, Cribbs, and Andrews, but who were some of the other memorable players from 1976-1980?

Neil O’Donohue,K.

Fast Freddie was amazing - especially early in his career

Easy answer. Freddie Smith. He's AU all time leading tackler and has most of the top 10 (5) leading tackles in a game. His career average was around 13 tackles per game.

If you want a list of best walkons at AU Skutack would be up there. Was an All-American under Dye in 1981.

That might be a better topic especially for the younger members of the board of the superstars that came from the walkon's in AU's past. Some of the ones just off the top of my head...
