Anecdotally, based on college tours of relatives, I don't think the boom is unique to AU.

TAMU added a new massive engineering building, Bama lots of new dorms, Clemson, LSU, and Kentucky mostly amenities (fitness center, dining hall, new student center) -

USCw built an entire new $700m village with dorms, stores, restaurants, etc

Yeah, my UGA brother in law and AU sister took their kids to
Bammer to visit. I said to them: surely AU has more building going on and is nicer. They were like : "Uh, no, not exactly..."

Lived in auburn from 2012-2018. Noticed a significant change in the last two years there in terms of pace and development. It’s growing as a city big time and it’s only amplified since then. Heck, it is even a regionally recognized food scene. In a lot of ways the Auburn many of us grew up loving is gone but to be fair it’s still great.

I’d be interested in knowing who’s doing all the financing.
If you live in Alabama or pay federal taxes you’re doing a lot of the financing… ???? the rest of the financing is donations and investment grade mostly tax advantaged bonds
