Elbow surgery (and the TV replay on that injury was straight-out nasty).

Irvin it is. I feel like this is exactly what happened with Terry his final year, down two centers. Am I remembering that correctly? I went to the game at UF that year and it was the same hopeless feeling I have now.

Can nothing go Auburn's or Harsin's way this cursed year?

It’s a cursed year for sure.

All I remember was that Ben Nowland, who eventually became a Rimington Trophy nominee, was a lightly recruited true FR who started fall camp as the 5th string center, but ended up starting by midseason.

We had a FR baseball player playing QB (Gabe Gross) as well. But we didn't have a single SEC-caliber RB on the roster. In fact I don't think a single tailback from '98 was still on the team in '99 (not counting Heath Evans, who was a fullback who played out of position most of his AU career).

But we had Markeith “The Lizard” Cooper.

Rusty Williams may have been on the team.

Heath Evans was a good FB who could have had some Carries

I believe it was five different centers used. I thought about that as we moved to our third string.

I see Freep beat me to it, and I could not think of Nowland's name, but I remembered the 5th string being the best of the bunch.

The one I remember most from the ‘99 team was the legendary Don Timmons, the walkon that Tubs started for one game vs Arky. He had 4 carries for a net 5 yards in that game, and never saw the field again.
