Interesting watching the anti Freeze crowd conveniently leave out that he was a 4th and 25 miracle (by Arkansas) away from taking Ole Miss to their first SEC Championship.

He is a really good coach.

Conversely, you can also make the argument that without that fluke TD against Bama, he would've lost to them and only have 1 win over Bama.

It's fun playing this game, isn't it?

Hugh was an excellent coach at Ole Miss

12-25 @ Ole Miss

30-12 @ Liberty = .600 That includes his one outlier year with Malik, otherwise he's an 8-5 guy.

quote:

beat the shite out of bama,
He won 2 games by the TOTAL of 12 points. How many did he lose?

quote:

won most of his bowl games,
Some big bowls in that history
quote:

literally got the most out of his players.
What does that even mean? Prove it.

quote:

I dont really have a dog in the fight. Im defending freeze so hard because this board writes off good coaches and tries to rewrite history. Hugh Freeze is a good coach. Full stop. Stop trying to poke holes it that.

I don't have to "poke holes" in anything. It's literally proven. Just look at his results. He is an 8-5 coach at his height, unless given unfair advantage or a QB out to prove he was slighted. His name being lauded by some in the AU circles is just absent of any substantiated successes that aren't from cheating or because of Malik.

And then he wraps himself in a hollow Christianity and does a complete disservice to that religion by his hypocrisy.

If Hugh is the answer, it's a dumb question or you're a dumbass.

Would’ve been vacated.

Losing a championship opportunity against an inferior opponent on 4th and 25 is not support that he’s a good coach

Just wondering what you guys think about Luke Fickell as HC.

Not from the area and no ties, but I imagine he could recruit here. Seems to have teams that play consistent and hard. Also, seems like a good x's and o's coach.

Not sure if he's been brought up in the thread. I'm not looking over 93 pages.

I think he's very good, but I also think he's being deliberate about where he goes next.

Remember, UC is about to move into the BXII next year, and with the playoff expanding to 12 as soon as '24, he might also be content staying where he is due to easier path to success.

such stock you put in NCAA punishment.

Didnt know you were ok with the NCAA hammering Ole Miss while turning a blind eye to bama.

Wouldn't have mattered. The 30-0 loss to Bert's Arky two weeks later would've ruined everything for them.

Including their abysmal Peach Bowl performance.

Only a handful of teams in the market. I take it you believe Freeze will be Liberty's HC for the forseable future since he isnt an upgrade for any other program in the nation

They're definitely the program that he is the best fit at with his using Christianity as a Shield schtick.

He's untouchable to a lot of people. Liberty AD was at Baylor during the sexual assult cover up scandal. That's the kind of person it took to employ Freeze

In 2015.

That 4th and 25 miracle came a year after the same Arky team (and HC) beat him 30-0. Conveniently left out, as well as his 0-4 record against that same team and HC.

Other 'really good coaches' in 2015:

Kevin Sumlin, TAMU
Jim McElwain, UF
Gary Pinkel, Mizzou
Charlie Strong, UTx
Larry Fedora, UNC
Art Briles, Baylor
David Shaw, Stanford

Huh? He was up 43-24 against Alabama late in the 4th quarter until they scored a couple of garbage time TDs. They routed Alabama for most of the game.

You don't think it's strange that literally no one else wants him, except some delusional AU fans that think he's a freaking superstar because he beat Saban twice?

And that AD is the "most Jesus-like leader and man I know" according to a 1:13 AM DM that Freeze sent on twitter to a woman who is actively suing Liberty for sexual harassment.
